What grinds your gears on forums

New joiners getting classifieds from google and messaging you to ask if its still available, when the big orange banner at the top of the page says "Completed, Sold".

Multiple times this week on the same item which sold nearly a month ago. One last week about something that sold in 2020..

You know you can delete old adverts?  Select 'Hide' in the options at the bottom of the page

 
AAP and Hicapa owners will sell you a gun with part names like the Shit Myself BigPP Short Stroker and act surprised when no one wants to pay used car money for it.

It's not just the parts with diminishing returns higher than Danniella Westbrook on Colombian flake that put me off, there's also the hideous colours for the slide and/or grip that look like somebody committed an unholy act on a unicorn.

Or they give it a theme and name it then paint the hardcase in the theme,have gaudy quotes all over it and an insane price tag. (Looking at you "joker" themed aap)

 
I tend to prefer my pews to be 'milsim ish' and no HPA, but if this was only a couple of hundred £ I'd consider it for the novelty factor.

 
I may have posted about the pricing of some adverts before for second hand good or unknown brands etc being wildly over priced.

But my particular bug bare at the moment is the price of some Glocks which are second hand. Might as well just by a brand new one! Gah! Just my opinion!

He's asking £1100 for a gun he can't even be bothered to list the parts used to build it, that's enough of a red flag for anyone. It's not like it's made of thousands of parts, it's what 30-40 parts that have been upgraded? God forbid he spends an hour writing a proper listing for it.

The ambiguous "all in" (or allin [sic]) wankery when listing items for sale. We're not playing a game of poker!

"All in" has meant one of (but not limited to) several things

  • Final price, inclusive of delivery and Paypal G&S fees.
  • Final price with delivery but they try charging G&S fees
  • Final price including G&S fees but no delivery
  • Final price without G&S fees or delivery
  • When it's a gun, the final price doesn't include the accessories, such as a scope or sling, the gun is pictured with
 
Non-airsoft playing cosplayers who visit a players' forum and want support to circumvent the laws and regulations around purchasing a RIF with no regard for the potential fall out that could happen and make things more difficult for actual players.

The other thing that grinds my gears is the self-importance such people show when they say they don't care about people's opposition, nor do they appreciate you can't always get what you want in life. Even if your circumstances are difficult, there isn't always room for exceptions.

At least they aren’t the ones who come onto an airsoft forum following their arrest for a firearms offence looking for some form of validation of having over powered paintball like guns with inappropriate projectiles loaded ready to go in the bedside cabinet next to their baseball bat, machete and crack.
