Trittech Shooting Glasses With Built In Fan.

For anyone that is not aware of the new standard there is a BSI white paper available here: https://www.bsigroup.com/globalassets/localfiles/en-gb/product-certification/ppe-eye-wear/en-iso-16321-white-paper-230720.pdf

If you look at the physical requirements tests, while they say that the new 'C' impact rating is equivalent to the old EN166F rating, they actually use a bigger, heavier test weight now.

The one thing that does confuse me a little though is the use case:

The standard now excludes
face protectors intended for live-working to
protect against short-circuit electric arcs, laser
protectors, sports eyewear, protectors for use
during medical applications, protectors for
medically prescribed applications; protectors
specifically intended for protection against solar
radiation only or protectors intended to protect
against ionizing radiation. There are separate
standards to cover these specific use devices.

Might make any insurance claims tricky if they fail in use, seeing as the standard only actually applies to eyewear for occupational or educational use.

Good for them for actually delivering, I hope they turn turn it into a successful product like ExFog.

So my glasses have finally arrived they are very quite you can hardly hear the fans and i think once playing you wont notice them at all.

Any chance of some pictures from the inside, please?

Do you think there's any scope for prescription inserts in these?

Are they actual lenses made to a prescription, or an insert?

My order number was 1272, though i got notification they had been sent, i had to ask them for tracking details.

Thy are actual lens not inserts which was why i brought them in first place. As i currently use ess ice with inserts

If they're any good, this will be an absolute winner for us who need prescription lenses. At the moment I use inserts for my Sawflys and my Heroshark goggles, but the inserts can fog sometimes, even with the air flow of the herosharks.

Very interested to see how the Trittech glasses perform with the prescription lenses. From what I can see they're not offering them at the moment outside of USA and Canada though? At least that's what it says on their website.

Yeah they originally had a deal with a uk company for prescription lens but they couldnt get the lens to be rated from them so fell through. Hence why i have to wait another 30 days for mine slas they are being done in us. Though cant see why they dont just add an extra for prescription and have it done there and send with prescription lenses already fitted

Hi are you still using these to good effect?  Also did you ever consider contact lenses, I'm off to get some tomorrow just for sports pretty much....if they go in out alright then at less than £1 per day can't be bad.

Heads up for those interested.

I bought some trittech glasses from Fife wargames.

They arrived next working day and I’m happy with them. I dropped them a quick email to ask about extra lenses and Oli has highlighted they have another order of trittech stock coming in around 3-4 weeks time.

The price is fair - would cost you £5 more to order from Trittech directly once you consider postage for both orders. Either way you’ll be waiting 3-4 weeks to receive them I guess?

I think I will finally get some once I have my next eye test at the optician. Heard only good things about these, and the prescription lenses they partnered with in America are Z87+ rated, which is more than enough for airsoft use. My prescription doesn't change much, so I'd probably go all out and get some really nice prescription lenses in the rx inserts and hopefully wave goodbye to fogging issues forever.

One can hope.

I only got mine yesterday so I haven’t skirmished them. But the fan on the first 2 settings was so quiet I thought the fans were broken ? I had to turn everything off as the humming from my office light was drowning out the fans.

they initially felt a bit clunky but they became comfortable very quickly.

Hey, did anyone get to test these in an actual skirmish? How did they hold up?

I sweat like a dog on heat, to the point where even a DyeI4 doesn't stand a chance of not fogging *sad face* so I was looking at something with a fan.

Can anyone let me know how these hold up on a hot game day? I know we are early in the year for the hot part, but one can hope.

Cheers folks.

Jon
