Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

@Jaylordofwaargh is right used is used.

But it doesn't perform exceptionally well though does it because you messed with it and couldn't get it right which is shocking you being a "professional tech"  and all.

What advert should say is:

G&G TR14 used and abused.

I took an average gun and diy teched it until it was worse. Fitted a basic Titan mosfet that will only cost you £45 to use properly. Put in a bunch of upgrade parts some of which are notoriously fragile but I have supplied the originals for a real tech to fit when it breaks.

So please give me more money than standard gun costs so you can have the enjoyment of this badly built piece of crap costing you more money and maybe ending in a youtube tech vid titled "look what some ham fisted monkey did to this poor gun."

Postage and paypal fees included.
Dude, that is not cool. I have tried and tried to reason with you and have amended a lot of my problems that were suggested. But, it's become clear that you can't be reasoned with. You are just being a straight arse.

Lol damn straight I am.

You haven't reasoned at all just tried to claim your right. Look at it my way do you know how many charity repairs I have done in the last few years that some so called techs charged for and fucked up? Doubt it because I have no clue all I know is it is too many. But I have a heart and hate making money off some poor sap who has been taken advantage of so will still end up doing it again.

Anybody who can't even slap together a basic build and then calls themselves a tech and charges people money is frankly a cheeky fucker and a scammer. You talked bollocks and added a labour charge so you fit that bill as far as I am concerned.

Can't be arsed pushing the point anymore but if I see anything like that ad again I will slap it down.

I am using hard facts. You are, and still are, throwing around baseless conjecture based off one build which is not a great sample size. Naturally, the correct facts are going to overpower your wishful thinking. Certainly, not everything I have done is right in this case. However, I have contemplated the whole "professional" thing and evidently rectified those problems quickly from the criticism received.

If you had a heart, then you could easily suggest things and point me in the right direction in a good manner, instead of being a right toxic arse. What happened to the first rule of airsoft? When have you last played a game?

And no, I am not making money off poor saps. I make sure the buyer fully knows what I have done to the guns. However, this time, I did make mistakes and I know that now. Would you have rather I said absolutely nothing and sold the whiney thing to a poor sod?

Mate what it comes down too plain and simple is what you posted in the beginning , you claimed professional tech work and experience and then proceeded to list all your cock ups during the build and still tried to big up your skills which has just put you deeper and deeper in the shit speckled hole you dug for your self with the initial advert . When you come down to it your NOT going to improve your position over this your only going to keep making it worse , me personally I think your best course of action is just  let it drop take it on the chin and move on your never going to come out of it well .

That's what I have been trying to do. But, ya'll are not letting me do that by choosing to unreasonably push it further despite repeated admittance to mistakes.

Anyway, ultimately, it will be completed soon and passed on. The things that went wrong this time, I can prevent that for the next project. And, that will be that. Let me move on.

Too be honest buddy this is your doing. Anyone in the engineering game will tell you never tell everyone what faults you made, all you should have said was.

”Couple of niggles during the build, took a lot of time to get them sorted, RIF now works as I expected”

You dug this hole for yourself, this isn’t me having a go, this is me giving you constructive criticism so you can learn from your mistakes.

I also disagree with your Professional statement, I get the definition is what you say it is, but you shouldn’t have used it in this Ad. It implies that you’re a shop that has built this as a one off. Just be honest and say you built it to “xyz” standard

Surely you can see/understand why you’ve been given shtick over this ad? It does come across as a bit intense.

SO having read and caught up with the last 3 pages......

Is it maybe time that as a hobby we started to look for a recognised teching qualification?

@hunter511 - Personally I think it's something which could (if implemented correctly) be very good for the hobby, however, just because there is a qualification/certification for something doesn't guarantee that the quality of workmanship meets the same standard as another qualified technician.

maybe in much the same way we have threads on here that rate your experience with retailers, we should have something similar for techs, listing their geographical locations & particular areas of expertise, or if they're shite & should be avoided ?

Problem with an Airsoft tech qualification is who sets the the standard AND who’s going to pay for it ?

Pretty much every sport that has any standards set for support staff has big money behind it or has set standards that have been around for ages and are ‘set in stone’

Airsoft ? We can’t even standardise the game ! ??

Used to be a time when shop techs could attend manufacturers courses, although I think they were nothing more than one day affairs, in order that shops could claim manufacturer validation.

being the cynical old bugger I am, I generally judge people by the quality of their work, not by the bits of paper on their walls, & I think this is true in most jobs, we've all had work colleagues who on paper match our own skill sets, but in reality do inferior (or superior?) work, so called airsoft techs are no different, hence the need for a thread naming (or shaming) those out there.

a register sounds too official, & may give validation to those who don't deserve it ?

From the regular horror stories we see here, I'm not sure there are any reliable techs, let alone ones capable of teaching or certifying others.

Again problem we will encounter is the brainwashed cult like following some well known techs have plus we’ll have the negative comments from players with a real piece of shit gun that had ridiculous expectations once it had ‘been to the tech guy’ then get all pissy it won’t outperform much more expensive ‘stock’ guns or even just survive the abuse they gave it ?

For want of a nail!!!,

this advert whilst not necessarily a dreamer just makes me think , why risk a sale for a cheap ass castle nut and electrical tape fix which puts the whole idea of the upgrades in question?
