Constructed from tough and durable water repellent 1000D heavy duty Polyester the many features include; A flap-covered main compartment with a drawcord snow collar and closure straps with top quality, UTX Flex branded quick release buckles. Six separate external compartments, one front and two side zip-fastening pockets for smaller items, both with storm protection flaps, one zipped pocket in the top flap for maps or accessories, a useful zipped pocket on a waist strap, as well as one lower pocket. The main compartment includes a zipped bottom pocket which can be used as a ‘false-bottom’ compartment ideal for carrying of items required for easy access.

The Bergan is highly adjustable with ergonomically designed and adjustable in length well padded shoulder straps, about 8cm wide, an adjustable chest strap (2.5cm) with an elasticated section and plastic clip, and a waist strap, approx. 5cm wide, partly padded and fully adjustable, which attaches with a large fastex buckle. To add to the comfort it has stiffened and specially shaped padded back: the Airmesh no sweat funnel back system with full flow ventilation channels to quickly dissipate sweat and aid cooling.

The back length is easily customised to the height of the user and to place even the heaviest load close to the centre of gravity. The New design focuses weight towards waist rather than the shoulders. The Highlander New Forces 66 HMTC Rucksack comes with a number external nylon straps all-round, as well as sewn-in webbing and D-rings on both shoulder straps to allow the attachment of additional equipment.

It also has an elastic bungee cord on a top lid for external carriage of sleeping bag etc. and allows for volume control thanks to a number of compression straps.
