Pistolguy Posted Wednesday at 16:02 Share Posted Wednesday at 16:02 Hello. I own a new ASG CZ P09 GBB pistol with polymer slide. The problem is that it can barely fire 3-5 shots before short stroking and then venting all the gas in the magazine. Even at the first couple of shots you can see the gas escaping through the slide and the pistol gets cold almost instantly. I have sent it back at the retailer but they did not help as they insist there is no problem with the pistol. I have tried different magazines, shot it lubed and oiled, shot it dry, changed the nozzle along with its o-rings, nothing changed. Can anyone suggest a possible solution? Thank you. Galvatron Posted Wednesday at 21:24 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:24 Where did you test it that you had this problem? Giving the retailer the benefit of the doubt of testing it and seeing no problem, have you been using your pistol in outdoors or in an otherwise cold environment when you had this gas venting problem? Pistolguy Posted yesterday at 05:30 Author Share Posted yesterday at 05:30 (edited) I have tested it out both indoors and outdoors, summer and winter time. It fares marginally better during summer time, meaning it vents all the gas at about 7-8 shots instead of 5. Gas escape from the slide during firing is also present in the warmer weather. Galvatron
Have you checked the hammer assembly? That's my next port of call after you've ruled out the magazine, the nozzle and its O-rings and ambient temperatures. I've had gas venting and firing in full auto (on a Hi-Capa) because a sear spring was seated incorrectly.

It doesn't really go full auto, it just short strokes by itself after the first 3-5 shots without actually shooting anything. It usually happens at the point the pistol gets extremely cold, regardless of the previous temperature. If I insert a fresh magazine at that point I can fire for another 3-5 shots before short stroking and venting gas again.
