Prowin Hopup unit, Prometheus purple bucking & Firefly Namazu flat hop nub.

I thought I would do a quick post with my thoughts on the Prowin Hopup unit, Prometheus purple bucking  & Firefly Namazu flat hop nub, hop up set up which I have just installed on both my M4 (both G&G).

 

I found this setup through the Amped Airsoft YouTube channel, where they have a video detailing the products and how to fit them.  I will put a link to the video at the bottom.

 

The quality of all these products is great.  The Prowin seems very solid and has a very solid rotary Cup adjust system which seems to stay in place very well.  The prometheus purple was very easy to work with and seems to give very good results in this configuration.  The Firefly Namazu nub is also excellent and easy to modify as per the video.

 

Installing the parts was easy and even shaving down the inside of the bucking went smoothly.  I used s Dremel and sanding wheel to remove the internal nub and guide from the bucking and reducing the size of the nub was easy to do as well.  I didn't change the barrels at this point, but may swap them in the future.  To be quite honest the barrels both seem ok to me and I didn't see any need to change them now.

 

My first impression after initial testing and set up at home is that there is a very noticeable difference in shot consistency, range and the amount of hop needed to get the best from the 0.25g BBs I use.  They seem to fly flatter for a longer distance with less side to side deviance from shot to shot, and the drop off at the end of the shot seems more gradual.  They also seem to be able to cope with the 0.25g Blaster BBs I use with less hop applied than before to get the same trajectory.

 

I still need to see how this performs in the field, but it looks very promising for being a worth while upgrade.

 

Over all I am very happy with this set up and would certainly use it again.
