Making a G&G CM16 R8L into a DMR

I am wanting to make my cm16 r8l into a DMR, if anyone could share some light on what parts are a good base and where to get them from, it would be extremely helpful. Stupid auto-correct.

All depends on the FPS limit your site has for "DMRs" (and if they allow an M4 to be used as one).

 

First of all you are going to need to lock it to semi auto only, this can be done several ways:

• buy a mosfet like a burst wizard that allows you to program it to fire only in semi
• cut a notch out of the selector plate (google it for what to cut)
• glue or screw something to the lower receiver that physically blocks the change lever from flipping to full auto

You are then going to want an accurate gun, so will need to work on the hop and barrel, my personal choice of barrels is PDI 6.05mm diameter, You could look into changing the hop unit to a prowin, but I have no experience with them to say if they are better or worse than your OE unit. You'll probs want to r-hop it although a flat hop set up is easier and will give similar performance.

 

Then once you have it shooting straight you'll need more power, you could shove in a spring to boost it but may also need to upgrade the motor too, you will also want a snappy trigger response and upgrading the motor will help here, you could also use an 11.1v LiPo but if you go that route you def want to fit a mosfet.
