What Brand for Tight Bores?

No that's ridiculous. The madbull's quality would have far surpassed that of a stock cyma, that's where the difference in.performance came from.

Just because it was only a tiny bit tighter doesn't mean.it can have a huge performance increase, its.just common sense.

Cyma make some.good stuff but their barrels will be no where near as consist ant as a mad bull and the finish won't be as good, thats where the benefits come from. I'd almost go as far as saying that the internal diameter is one of the least important factors when deciding on a barrel.

@TacMaster: It may just be that I got phenomenally lucky with my CYMA AK barrel, but that AEG beat TM AK's for range and accuracy right out of the box, and the barrel made very noticeable improvement to my Gen III SRC G36KV. That said, it is brass so I'm very careful when I clean it.

Brass Barrels have a 'break in' period for a about 50k shots, since it is a soft metal, the air constantly flowing through it shapes and deforms it thus granting it better performance. Don't remember why,I lost the Reddit thread link, but TL;DR; Sciency shit.

There were test results between a gun with a fresh out of factory brass barrel and a gun with an older barrel with 100k+ shots through it,both guns stock, fresh out of the box.

I experienced for myself,I went to my local shop and compared my 6 year old VSR,even with a worn hop rubber,to a out of the box VSR and I got superior accuracy.

This might be the answer to Ian's case, the broken in barrel gave him better performance on his G36

Bore quality and use(If it's brass) affects barrels. I'm on the wider is better side of the fence.

Personally,I would recommend a 6.05mm Brass barrel. Aftermarket manufacturers don't seem to make them much, but you can grab a Marui one for pretty cheap.

Anyone tried an Orga wide bore? Would like to give one a go but they cost so much that I'd rather pay for a pdi for the guaranteed high quality.

The theory is that you need a barrel that is tight enough to allow air flow around the BB but not enough so the BB moves all over the place.

If the barrel and BB are matched correctly then the air will flow behind and around the BB. If this happens then the BB never touches the sides of the barrel giving the best performance.

This is all theory of course. I think you can even buy rifled barrels that are supposed to give this effect.

But the point is your choice of quality BB is as important as your choice of quality barrel.

This here is the most important point, buy the highest quality part you can afford and worry about the numbers later.BB's as mentioned are also important, there's no point in buying a tightbore if you then go and use cheap or biodegradable .02's as the improvements will be minimal. You'd get a bigger gain by saving the money to spend on better quality .25's.

If you're already using very good ammo at a decent weight, then go on and get a tbb as it will be worth the gain.

Tanio Koba Hop Twist barrels. I recently bought one but, on the fcuking day we actually met in person to swap cash and stuff for barrel, after waiting with baited breath for ages while Ed and I were unable to get to the same skirmishes, I lost the tiny bit which pushes the nub into the hop rubber from my G36 and, although I now have a new one and a whole bunch of upgrades, I've yet to have time to get the gun back together and working. So I'm afraid I can't actually comment on their performance...

it would be interesting to know as I have often wondered about buying one.

thanks

I personally find that 6.01mm tight bores are better than twist barrels. Which is to say, easier to get on with to the point where the faff of a twist barrel makes it redundant.

It may be that you have to tune the gun to a very specific set of parameters to get the full effect of it, but in my eyes that has the potential to limit your gun in some areas.

So the more simple tight bores are just easier to work with, quicker to set up, and work the same with any set up.

ummm ok guys... imma stick with the madbull anyway...

Changing the subject.... Can you believe this?! My friend is willing to trade his TM glock 18c for my AK47?!

I MEAN WTF?!?!?!

IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE BUT I'M TAKING THE OFFER!

P.s. He says that he's gonna turn it into an AK sniper rifle and do all kinds of crazy upgrades to it.... But i personally think that my upgraded CYMA gearbox is what he wants...

Defiantly,go for the trade! even if the Glock is broken there are many many spare parts available and it's rather easy to fix.

It's much better than your AK. A nice sidearm to your future GR4.
