I’ve just swapped a v2 gear box from a king arms m4 into a lancer tactical m4. Both v2 gbs. 
all went ok until I went to fit the upper reciever back and it wouldn’t locate all the way back by 3-5mm.

i swapped the hops over no change. When I remove the hop and inner barrel it locates perfect. What am I missing apart from hope?

King arms =/= Lancer Tactical.

Just because they are both V2 boxes doesn't mean they're the same. Sounds like one sits differently to the other in the receiver. That's assuming you have the pins back in and the grip attached.

Must be the King Arms box being a little off spec.

Had a similar issue when trying to fit a Retro Arms gearbox inside my now deaded KA PDW. It went in a little weird.

Lancer Tactical should use the same OEM as Specna, Dboys and such, so I expect them to be pretty much as standard as it gets whereas King Arms seems to be doing its own thing altogether.
