TM Glock 17 gen5 mos

New Glock pieces day!

Half from Boomarms, half from Armsaholic.

Will keep me busy ?

I've already  lost half of those bits on the floor just by looking at them.

TM are teasing us - since Jan they've done runs 17.3, 26, 26A and 22.

I wonder if they could do a new 22.5. I'm sure they've already thought of that if the legal stuff is hampering 17.5

rumour I’ve heard from within the retail industry is that they’ve sorted out the legal problems (which weren’t actually legal problems but production problems) and they’re back at it. we might be waiting a bit for the gen5 as it’s more onerous to produce compared to the others. But who knows.

Personally, I’m waiting for guarder to start selling complete lowers, nozzles and blowback units. Then I have everything I need to build them without a donor.

First time I took one apart, I got the trigger sear and my screw driver stuck in the chassis. Simultaneously the sear spring launched to the other side of the room and got tangled in my dogs fur…

Yeah, i'm not one for fiddly stuff where you need 4 pairs of hands in different sizes.

Rails and drop ins are fine, but something like a trigger box is just not worth the agro for me. Even my ngrs's go to a tech just for the ease of not having to dick around with it.

I’d still rather work on a GBB mechanism than a NGRS.

I hear that when you open an NGRS, the soul of a Japanese Airsoft tech leaves the receiver. You have to sacrifice another one to be able to seal his soul back into the receiver when closing it, otherwise it will never work again.

Anyone know where I can get a set of Gen 5 magazine O-rings? Both of mine are leaking and my google skills are letting me down…

they’ll take very similar o-rings to the gen 1 mags - I’ve repaired all of mine using the nitrile o-rings off AliExpress.

if it’s only the bases leaking, you want the 21 x 2.4mm o-rings. You can find them on AliExpress of a couple of quid for a pack of 10.

They’re a b*stard to get back together as the repair o-rings are approximately 0.4mm thicker. However, so won’t leak again as the fit is so tight.

alternatively you could try soaking the OEM orings in boiling water. I find this is an urban myth personally… but several people swear by it. It apparently expands the oring back to its original size.

There is a easy but not good looking way to fix if it is just the base- Thread tape on it. It doesn't work that well for mag base hold by pins(works better on base fixed by a long screw, like WE glock mags or hicapa mags),but it still holds for a long time

To be fair, if we’re sharing tips on how to bodge it ? I’d recommend fuel resistant gasket sealant. A liberal application around the inner edge of the magazine shell, then fit the base and insert the pins. Wipe off the excess and leave to cure (typically 24-48hrs). I’ve used this bodge on a few gas rifle mags with awkward o-ring sizes and it lasts a few months.

With any of these bodges, they eventually fail.

Few bits of glock news:

firstly it looks like TM have announced a new production date. Hopefully that means if you had a preorder with impulse, you’ll get yours!

secondly, don’t have photos to hand, but guarder have teased on Facebook they’ll be doing a gen5 G34 and G45 based off the gen5 mos platform ?

I dont have an order in with them, but hopefully some stock finds it way to the UK, even with mark ups.

Remind me, the 17.5 works with older mags but is better with the latest mags?

Yeah, the gen2 mags are backwards compatible. They seem to have better gas stored and gas output compared to the old mags.

I find my older glocks run much better on the newer mags, so whilst they’re quite expensive, they seem worth it. They’re still heavy compared to the guarder, prowin and TTI mags.

Nice one.

That was good to watch to see how you did the sear/spring part in the rear chassis and the main trigger spring at the front.

Fitted all the Guarder parts a week or two ago - everything very easy aside from those two stages of rebuild that required MUCH patience!

Yeah, first time I did it, I panicked as I thought I’d really f*cked it. I couldn’t get the sear back in with my bare hands ? luckily I buy so much shadowfoam I had a pair of forceps to hand and managed to jiggle it in using them. No idea how you get it in barehanded.

Glock lawyer: "You can't make a G17!"

TM: "It's not a 17, its a shortened G34"

(i know it might not be lawyers, it might a bit of production issues too)
