The 'What have you just bought' Thread

I agree that the AK looks best with the traditional wooden furniture but I'll always remember the way people on the red alliance forum (usually who weren't even a twinkle in the milkman's eye in when the USSR collapsed) would clutch their pearls if someone dared to post a picture of an AK with ris rails. Then the invasion of Crimea happened and the news was filled with pictures of Russian troops holding AKs with rails

I think mine are...

AK full stock
AKM full stock
AKS underfolder
AKM74U
AK75 with GP-25
RPK74
AK12

I also count my...

SVU
Dragunov
&
Galil

I like an AK. I think I have probably too many. highlights include LCT type 3 solid and folding stock version, Inokatsu/LCT Galil, custom built Iraqi Tabuk, AKS74U with a Candyman BS-1 "Tishina" 30mm grenade launcher and a Celcius AKM PTW. I always regretted not buying the ARES Beryl when they were out but hope isn't lost as I heard Spectna Arms may be bringing one out (unless it's already out and I missed it).

A Beryl would be very interesting.

A bit late but last week I got my grubby mitts on a Secutor Velites G3 shotgun courtesy of @Maurice_moss and a few extras from patrolbase. Unfortunately pb decided to be a bunch of lazy sods and didn't bother posting my order till Friday despite me placing the order Tuesday morning.

A rather tasty S&T Kar98K:

I've popped a slightly shorter Maple Leaf barrel in there, together with a ML Autobot bucking; plus a host of extremely well made goodies from Begadi - new piston, spring guide, cylinder head, hop arm, and 90 degree trigger box. On an M140 spring it's shooting about 1.4J with a 0.32BB, with wonderful accuracy and range. The bolt remains very easy and smooth to work.

One of the benefits of the S&T Kar98 is the ease of mounting a scope. Whilst there are some lovely reproductions of the original scope and mount available, they are rather spendy. For the time being at least, I used a free 3d printing file to print a very serviceable mount for a cheap little scope I had laying about. The combination worked superbly at Driver Wood last Saturday.

I must say, functionally, this seems to be a bit of a winner compared to my S&T Lee Enfield No.4.

The S&T Lee Enfield, especially if I could nab a surp buttstock, would be such a vibe. Sadly the only times I've seen ones on the field they were accompanied by swearing and repeated failed attempts at just working.

A VFC HK416D from Urby. I've thrown a barrel extension, acog & butt stock on with some other bits n bobs as I wanted an M27 IAR clone, the rail covers will be replaced once I've got some more accurate one's & I'll need to dig out a Birdcage for the front end. If you squint hard enough you won't see where the extension is attached.
Also got some VFC mags from Ronin0033 , I now have enough VFC mags if I wanted to skirmish any of my VFC GBBR's.

It's skimishable, but it is absolutely critical first to replace the loading fin/plate and its C clip with a cut down airsoft Pro L96AWS feed plate, together with a matching airsoft pro C clip to hold the fin onto the nozzle/cylinder head. Otherwise the stock C clip constantly pops off and it all jams up. Other than that, its pretty good, but the bolt pull is very stiff if you want to run it at anything over 1.1J (and the cylinder volume is rather low).
