The 'What have you just bought' Thread

it's probably a range, 455ish being optimal and decreasing to 509ish before it really becomes noticable.

of course having said all that, for the 20 seconds when my mg42 was still an aeg it had no problems with accuracy whatsoever on a 650mm barrel......
Yes it would be a range as it is apparent the required volume ratio is very much dependent on the BB weight you are using.

Corr this thread is busy, what's going on in he.....

Thank you for this. It made me smile after a difficult week dealing with UPS. I still can't stop smiling now.

I am absolutely baffled how a post saying words to the effect of 'you don't need a RIF with a longer barrel to perform well in woodland games, but if you want to buy one go for it' turned into this. But whatever, at the rip roaring age of 30 I'm clearly very senile and that's somehow a statement that needed to be debated... for 2 entire pages.

I wish you good luck with whatever it is you wind up buying, I for one am thoroughly looking forward to using my 'specialised platform' at my next CQB games. I've seemingly been incorrectly calling it a pistol, but now I know better...  so thanks for that.

Mate FFS, this is probably the most knowledgeable & helpful forum around, yet your just pissing over well intentioned advice with smug insults & hearsay, not the way to endear yourself in the future, last time we had one like you was a guy called Duff, got on the wrong side of literally everyone, & is now conspicuous in his absence lol.

Me, I have no understanding of the science of piston volume Vs barrel length etc, but I do know about decent hop set up trump's pretty much everything else, but in 20 years of playing I've seen long barreled guns with the accuracy & range of a garden sprinkler, & short barreled guns, such as my mates TM MP7 AEP, that had the range & accuracy of a NASA laser.

So take a chill pill, accept that all our "guns" are glorified catapults, there are no guarantees, even with the most expensive ones, & enjoy the forums.

Thing is very sturdy when its attached to the barrel. Tried a few different hop up rubbers for fit. A Lonex didn't stand a chance of getting in. Then went to a Prometheus purple which barely fit and tore near the barrel end. Moment of dread trying to get it out but it eventually came back out. Might have fit if I had trimmed off a mm or so. Lastly tried out a G&G green which fitted snugly but well. Still waiting on other parts before I can reassemble it the build but first impressions are promising.

Any issues with mounting in/on the outer barrel? I know that some E&Ls need new holes drilling to marry up to the front of the GB properly.

It's pretty simple how it happened actually. I mentioned it before. folks being way to eager, literally foaming at the mouth to "assert their knowledge".

Me: I wanna buy a RIF suitable for outdoors as opposed to a snub nosed CQB RIF

The Old boys: Blasphemy! *Crowd groan in collective shock* He wants to to do what?

Some guy: Why doesn't he just use that? Is he saying barrell length is the determining factor for range *In whiney nasal voice*

Me: No..... I would rather just buy another RIF? M4, SA, L85 platform with one more suited for this range?

Followed by a bunch of nonsensical, misquotes, ramblings and uninformative information.

Didn't you 'tap out' 2 hours ago? Fuck off.

Apparently I'm here so logic and reasoning would suggest that didn't occur.....I know this premise is hard for you to understand but that's the logistics of this.

- A friend visits your home and says he's leaving your residence....Your friend is still there. So by default he hasn't left since he is in fact still inside your residence.

I recently got one too. No issues with Maple leaf rubber. The barrel clip was very tight on the PDI barrel but a little cleaning up of the clips edges and it provides a very nice and secure fit. Now just waiting for the RIF it is going to go in (stuck with UPS).

Not quite how remember it. More like:

- Uninformed, low post count noob comes onto the forums with his two-tone 'specialist platform'

- Makes comments about barrel length

- Told length doesn't matter compared to other factors

- Berates the experienced hand on here that have been building guns for years

- Spouts off stuff about physics, experiments and 'do some research'

- Is also an arrogant tosser about it

- Calls everyone old, senile and incoherent

Yep, that sums it up.

Was going to say I haven't any E&Ls at the moment but have a friends AKM I was doing a bit of work on. Will have a looksy and get back to you.

Come on guys. A little misunderstanding on both parties sides does not need to escalate into this. You are driving this thread well of topic with an unnecessary argument.

A multipage off topic argument on an airsoft forum, who'd have thought it?

Can we all just heed these wise words and move on.

Size matters not.

Why do you keep mentioning two toned like your Toy gun is better than my Toy gun? We're both playing Soldier with Toy guns.... only I am a 20 year old and you are old enough to be my dad. Hence these dementia laden posts from you
