The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread

We don't play in the afternoon.

But during my drive home it was hovering around 33/34.

On a side note I found out why the AK stopped working: the mosfet kept overheating and as a result it kept shutting itself off.

I'll crack it open later and check for the cause.

could just be ambient temperature is pushing it over the edge?

never had a mosfet overheat (that wasn't the result of generalised stupidity ie an asg 40k on 11.1v) but then anything double digits is considered decent weather here.

Had a good evening game on Thursday. Couple of guys were really good and as such most of us were back to regen a good few times before we finally got them.

Had a go on a marshall’s TM Hi-Capa gold match - now there’s a nice pistol!

Took my bro-in-law with me and he enjoyed it which was good, may just be able to get him along to a few more games.

Forgot to take my watch off and it took a hit and broke (see what have I learned thread) - that was definitely the low point.

Today (south of England), drank at least 3 liters of water (with one of the2 liters bottles being frozen), went home at 1 pm as it was just too hot, and still got a stonking headache ?

Honestly doubt that.

Okay it was hot today but the mosfet ran completely fine for two mags (AK high caps so it's close to 1k shots) before shutting down the first time, after that it ran for about 350/400 shots then shut off again..

My team tech says it's because the motor draws a lot of amps, but it sounds odd as the e&l m170 motor is essentially a SHS HT and I only run 7.4s ? didn't do any magdump either..

All the wires are intact.

I have no clue. I'll have a chat with Jakub at Perun and see what happens.

Took a King arms P90 and an ASG scorpion evo to todays game. One failed take your bets. Both factory new.

...
...
...

The scorpion evo developed a jam in pretty much the first 10 shots and I had no unjamming rod. I also lost the alan key which I used to adjust the hop up.

Meanwhile the KA p90 preformed valiantly fired every single round from the p90 HIcaps everyone seems to hate and got me probably about 10 kills which is a lot for me

Also I ended up dumping my then annoying chest rig and just running a large utility pouch canteen and holster on a simple belt.

Also downed like 5 bottles of water.

I might (definatly) have a cqb itch/bug. Got lots of kills, died lots. Really intense.

Overall a grand day of shooting but my gods why did i decide to red 1 on the day that one of the key crossing of the river is closed and the other major crossing is running at 50% capacity! Ok for those that dont know london, it caused a major shitshow that meant the 90mins tfl told me it would take was really 2.5 hours of near torture.

Had a blast playing yesterday, but my god it was bloody hot and no moving air down in he woods. Went through a bottle of water each game  but started to struggle in the end so called it a day about 3. Took 2 AEG's and my gas L119 A1, AEGs never left the safe zone ! That's 4 consecutive games now where I've only run gas , I love GBBRs and the tactical play they demand but usually mix it up with an AEG . WE haters take note that it hasn't missed a beat in a game and it's had several thousand BBs through it in testing gaming and garden plinking. 5 single mags one double mag and a speed loader and I'm good for a game. One gas fill gives me about 2.5 BB loads per mag . 3 GBBRs on our team yesterday, the noise in the woods was Awesome ?

My game yesterday was amazing. Very warm and very sweaty, but we played in an area of the site we never play in, allowing me to use a pathway that only a tiny handful of players (mostly marshalls) know about to plink away at the enemy team with my silent HPA VSR setup and have them scratching their heads wondering where the hell they got shot from / how the hell did someone get behind them in a chokepoint-y game. Arms and legs are covered in scratches bcause I had to fight through thorns to use it as it's super overgrown, but worth it.

Also, I ditched the ghillie a few months ago due to temperatures / humidity / general sweat and eye-pro fogging, but I went one further and only wore a short sleeved OD t-shirt and BDU trousers while sniping and I still had people almost trip over me and be super surprised after I shoot them. Superior fieldcraft trumps a ghillie suit every day of the week and it's good to get the practice without it. Plus it feels even better when you go unnoticed while knowing you're not wearing the best camo. Maybe I'll try it next in a loud hawaiian shirt...

I also ache all over today, which means it was a good day!

Interesting day for me Saturday.

Got back into airsofting recently and really been enjoying it.  This weekend I went to a different site as my regular only does alternate weeks.

Mid morning game I see my Umarex h8r on the floor and realise my holster has come unbolted from it's belt retention, so am now carrying it.  Push back game, on the last point so I set it down at the foot of a tree about 6ft from me.  I get hit out a few mins later and realise it has gone, from right next to me.  Clearly someone has picked it up thinking it has dropped off (had half a holster hanging off it) and handed it in.  But nothing, I asked the marshalls to ask for it at the next briefing, they didn't.  Asked again, and they didn't.  In the end I had to shout up myself.  Nothing.  I explained to them clearly that someone has knicked it and they simply said I shouldn't leave things on the floor.

So that combined with some fairly confusing game modes and boat loads of people "live" firing in the safe zone with no eye pro on has resulted in some shit tinted glasses for airsoft at the moment.

Would be interested to hear others thoughts on this, has anyone else had anything swiped?  I have always thought it normal to leave guns propped up etc. but now clearly that is not the right thing to do!

I often see and also myself, leave things against trees or behind cover.  Sucks that someone would do that.

I almost got my (old) radio nicked a couple of years ago.

Had it in its pouch, unbuckled, so at one point it fell out on the main path.

After the game, a teammate found it and asked who the owner was, this woman from another club claimed it was hers (legit Karen levels of yelling), luckily though it had "17" written on it, which was done by the previous owner and I got it back.

Quite hilarious as this woman was very upset and kept arguing it was hers, but nobody saw her with a radio that day.

Some people are just disgusting.

That fucking sucks dude. But that's even more reason to accessorize and make sure you can always carry your gear. I wear a charger pack attached to my plate carrier as well as a secondary "rear pack" attached to my battle belt so if my holster is rendered useless my secondary is going straight into my rear pouch.

I also would've run everyone's pockets I possibly could until I found it. Airsoft is too much of an expensive hobby to allow shit like that to fly.

Well, that's a giant bag of dicks, and no mistake.  What an appalling attitude.  What site should we be avoiding?

Was at longmoor & someone had a rifle nicked (allegedly ?), The day overall was shit but I will commend the organisers for stopping the GamePlay & organising a search of the area & vehicles attending, thoroughly conducted by some plod players.

Nothing found unfortunately & later the loss was considered "questionable", due to the past antics of the "victim", but I know I'd want the same effort made if my kit went walkabout.

@loctez, what site were you playing at ?

EDIT: Reading this back I realise it looks as if I'm talking about a recent game, it's not, it was years ago but the post about kit being nicked makes it a relevant experience I thought I'd share.

Yeah, quite often seen people prop a rifle against a tree and move in with a pistol for example.

As regards thievery, one example comes to mind.  A friend was showing off some kit in the boot of his car and another party saw fit to pilfer a midcap. Dropped it into his dump pouch and sauntered off. Said friend went to have have a word with the lads running the site.

The guy with the nimble fingers left the site early at lunch.  Peculiar thing over a MAG AK midcap.

not personally (discounting the pilfering of kit by squadmates done in the name of humour and always returned), however i have heard of stuff getting pinched, including a double barreled 1911.....

its surprising to me it doesn't happen more often given people just leaving their kit strewn out across the safe sone, rifles, pistols etc. personally if it's not on me it stays locked in the boot of the car.

i do recall one day stumbling across a gas vector mag just lying inside a building, normally i would ignore such things but in that instance i figured "if i pick it up at least i know a theiving bugger hasn't", you've never seen such a look of relief when it was re-united with its owner.

Traveled to Oakham to visit The Gaol.

Was fast paced CQB with the least amount of moaning I've experienced at any day of airsofting. Extremely enjoyable. The venue is great with it being a disused prison. Plenty of buildings to navigate through, some light, some pitch black (or close to). Outdoor areas were interesting with just the right amount of cover in each area.

The owner of the site is what I believe made it so great. He switched up windows that were open, access around the site and through buildings in-between all games. Kept you thinking throughout to prevent yourself being shot in the arse and thinking about how you can be sneaky-sneaky.

Looking forward to going again in the future. If anyone is around the East Midlands area, I would highly advise doing so. I believe they used to operate with around 100 attendees per game day, however they restricted number due to covid and have decided to keep it that way permanently even if they cannot afford to do so (the words from the owner himself).

Where did you get that pack? I tried looking it up but all the results where portable chargers.
