Stoner LMG box magazine not feeding

Hi all,

I recently purchased a stoner lmg from Evike, and on game day despite being charged and loaded it wouldn't fire. A friend looked at it and said it wasn't feeding properly, and that usually there is some kind of cog/gear that guides the bbs up. After looking in the box I found a small black metal cog like disc and to be honest I have no idea what it's for, I am suspecting perhaps something that should have been in the magazine but wasn't.

Does anyone know anymore about this issue, or know how to open these types of magazines? The gun came with zero instructions and I've managed so far with dismantling videos on youtube, they don't cover the magazine.
