While out at a game the other day my trusty M60 magazine failed to feed. This is the first time this has happened despite what you hear about them being junk. As it turned out it was simply 2 bb's had managed to try and feed side by side and jammed the winding wheel. 2 minute fix and it's back to working order. I did however decide it was probably a good idea to take a second box magazine along with me so ordered a spare. Upon opening the parcel I have found that the magazine has been completely redesigned. The original box basically has a motor and flat reduction gearbox mounted to a standard hicap mechanism. The feed tube is captive. The newer design looks like a food processor with a centrally mounted motor and inline gearbox. The wiring in the base is a lot tidier and the motor has a small 2pin plug should you wish to remove it. Moreover the feed tube from the magazine appears to be secured by a grub screw allowing easy removal. Very handy as I wanted to try mounting it away from the gun and running a long hose under a bullet belt. Probably old news but not something I had heard about. Below are a couple of pictures of the new and old internals. The newer type looks like it will be a higher capacity as well given the more compact design.
