Stock WE G17s that come with magwells

I have removed the magwell from mine. It is attached by a screw that goes into a metal unit held inside the back of the grip by what I thought was a grub screw or allen bolt through the backstrap.

However none of my allen keys work with it. They go in but the thing doesn't turn. 

I suppose it might be secured by a slot headed or philips screw, but I'm guessing it isn't meant to be removed and I'll just have to leave the whole unit in.

Can anyone confirm this?
