Article in the Hounslow Herald.
Very obvious airsoft glock in the picture...
Hounslow Herald.
You have to ask was it the Police being economical with the truth or just poor journalism? Screenshot_20260208_183206_Facebook.webp

I saw that same pic on Sky news and clearly a Raven Airsoft Glock, naughty firearm tho according to reports... Perhaps they where going to throw it at someone because it wouldn't fire!

Ooh ive got a story, reported in the press, but in fairness to them the info came from the police who have massively fucked up, & stormed an airsofters house due to a workplace malicious false firearms accusation.
BUT
Its ongoing so probably best i keep it zipped for now, in fairness to the guy that's been fucked over🤐

Vast majority of people can't tell a real pistol from a deac/co2/gbb even if you let them physically handle all of the above for a minute and let them examine as closely as they like. I've watched it happen.

Unfortunately very common when reporting on these topics. Usually they do actually find something illegal but lump in a bunch of completely legal stuff to scaremonger / make the person look insane. Person arrested on firearms offenses, but also owned some deacs and replicas? better get that in the article so we can ban those too!
Really is baffling. Articles would be utter nonsense if the same logic was applied elsewhere. Can see the headlines now... "Fraud suspect had PAPER and DOCUMENTS and COMPUTERS".... god what a nutjob, only bad people own XYZ...

On the face of it, I would accept the RIF photo as one of the items, looking a bit scary as a gun like thing, which could be a bad man chav piece, or could be a genuine player caught up in also being a naughty boy / girl, it could have inappropriate projectiles with it (not the first time that there has been a thread on here regarding something that on the face of it was legal, but fell towards the naughty boy side)

There are multiple properties involved, with multiple illegal items. @Tackle might know something in the background, unless they are highlighting the difference between headlines and the reality once facts are known down the line

There’s an ongoing case, with much illegality, but from what we can see the pistol photo is of something fully legal which forum members would endorse when used responsibly but condem misuse

No, the situation i referred to was a different one, essentially a front line blue light worker with 30+ years under his belt reprimanded a subordinate for his grossly offensive behaviour towards a female colleague, the subordinate in turn then went to HR, alleging the guy I know has "guns hidden in his home", but not the fact that they are non lethal airsoft guns (all AEGs), HR panicked & reported it, regular plod raided his home, seized his guns for forensic examination, then spotted a WOODEN Mills bomb in a display cabinet, panicked & called in bomb disposal to assess it, my guy arrested, held for 30hrs & then bailed, within an hour of getting home 2 senior officers from his command turn up & sack him on the spot for gross misconduct, apparently the top officer in the county panicked & decided the best course of action was to put as much distance between them & him before there was media shitstorm, even though he'd technically, & legally, done nothing wrong.
TBH im not a fan of the guy for completely unrelated reasons, family crap, but no one deserves to be served such a "shit sandwich".
Next time someone's thinking of digging another player out for obscuring faces in pics, shit like this is why they feel the need to keep their hobby on the down low.
