Shiny gear?

Sup, whats up with shiny gear (such a vests/pouches etc)? does it always shine when new (I usually buy 2nd hand)? if not what's the point? why bother with camo colours when its shiny??

any way to know before buying?

The cheaper stuff is generally more 'shiny' however sometimes it's just the pictures showing the product in a bad light, so to speak

If it's not cordura, put it through the wash and it'll look 5 years older

Sometime it'll be how they treated the material particually waterproof stuff can be quite shiny..

well, i just opened a tmc condura rig (so nothing to do with the photo).. throw it in the washing machine?

Use it, kick it around a bit, should take the edge off the shine
