SCO19 gear

It is a matter of scale; affordable to get top quality kit for specialist team as opposed to buying for the whole police force. The same way that the army does not buy Gucci kit for everyone, just a very small number who require it. Difference in 300 sets as opposed to 100,000. Approved companies offer government discounts, which is cheaper than a civvie will pay for the same kit.
Yep I know, clearly giving that kinda kit to everyone would go badly, lol most I'd it would end up on eBay for beer tokens, but as I've pointed out, my mate, actually my son's godparent, is often proclaiming the wasteful procedures in place, in my own defense I've never actually asked him what brands their currently using (although I will do after this), but I still don't see that, for example, a £200 pair of trousers will a fo perform better than if he had a £60 pair of Keck's, in much the same way having the Gucci kit doesn't make you a better airsofter.

I think some people are misinterpreting my moan for a dig at the guys at the sharp end, which clearly it's not.

PS. Ironically, me mate spends a lot of time working undercover, during which he wears his own clothes (most of which have an outdoor/climbing theme), so if you see a big fella in central London looking like he should be up Ben Nevis, it's prob him ?
