Reasons why you buy a particular model of AEG

Because I like the way it looks. Any AEG can be made to shoot well so what’s inside really doesn’t matter to me.

Aye. The spectre was kinda trashy but was fully standard v3 innards, so £50 of upgrades later, its a lovely little submachine gun.

Who makes your M733? Is it any good OOTB?

Built it from scratch bud.

CA M15A2 reciever

G&P M733/Commando front set

TM CAR15 stock

CA v2 shell with some decent innards... recently installed a homemade mosfet.

Guarder infinite torque up motor.

I think i bought most of the pieces from the classifieds on UKAZ or ASCUK - probably didn't cost me more than 150 quid total. considering the parts I used, it was a bargain.

Don't think it's ever broken down on me, so reliability has been pretty damn good.

Left it in storage for a couple of years and it wouldn't feed when I took it out again - swapped out the tappet spring and its been going fine ever since.

Closest OOTB AEG you could find would probably be the G&P with A1 type receiver, so more like the one from Heat than BHD ? :

I'm currently looking at grabbing one. Any advice or warnings? I'm happy to do upgrades on it, especially if it's all standard V3.

Not really. Was standard so upgrading was cheap and easily done.

I would start with

- new hop unit and good bucking

- new piston and piston head

- stronger spring

- metal spring guide

- rewire to deans

After that, you will want gears/motor to either achieve faster rate of fire or faster trigger response...or a balance for both. Wouldnt bother with a tbb as it comes with a 6.05 anyway.
