Projects over the next year or so.

No idea about receiver unfortunately, don't think anybody produces the Diemaco ones any more.

G&P might. WGC says they're discontinued, but they're still on the G&P website, and other retailers say they're out of stock rather than discontinued.

Other things that WGC say are discontinued (e.g. the G&P SR25 and M110) have been removed from the manufacturer's website as well, which is why there's a chance the receiver you're after isn't discontinued.

As Land Warrior Airsoft stock it (out of stock at the moment), try sending them an email to see if they can order any in. On G&P's website, it's listed as "in stock": http://www.gp-web.com/en/productspop.php?pid=2860.

I noticed earlier that Wolf Armouries are "Out of stock" as well, though it was listed as being £100! I'll drop Land Warrior a message when I pick up the M4 and enquire about it.

The rare as buggery M16A4 receiver I was after a few weeks back was only listed as about £80 in most places. I really can't afford to pay for any of the major parts until September-ish when my loan comes through, my brother's paying for the rifle off the back of me promising to pay for all the other parts and letting him use it once it's finished lol.

I'll just have to hope and pray I can pick one up from somewhere at some point down the line. Perr Mike said he was getting hold of some custom gas block/front iron sights in the future at some point, going for about £65 each, so I'll get my foot in the door early for one of them.

im sure ive heard about a company called perr mike making c8 recievers.i was looking at a sr-25 reciever to make one G&P £250 no thanks

I'll ask him about the receivers when I message him my address for the barrel extension. To be honest I'm not too bothered about the cost of anything airsoft related, if it's under £200 I'll mostly likely save up and buy it, so long as it's not something really tiny and stupid like a hop-up nub lol.

The line has to be drawn somewhere though... Like, £1300 for an Inokatsu P226 kit is a little mental. I don't think I'd ever pay more than £1000 for an as-it-comes gun, paying more than that for a TM Sig body kit is truly insane.

i dont think they make the scope for the 129 "i.e. a cheap airsoft one" the 129 is also very front heavy without the scope also did i miss read a grand for a sig?

Yeah the L129 generally has the 6x zoom version of the ACOG, which you're right in saying doesn't have an airsoft equivalent, which is a bit of a kick in the nads.

You also read correctly. I was reading around the other day, looking for a new Sig and I found out Inokatsu make a body kit for the Marui that sells for around £1300... Very very very rare and only a few were made, I think there's only 80 in the world.

First link isn't working for me.

But the second one is, so at least I know I can use a standard-ish scope for it instead.

Grounded Pilot is selling a custom L129 build... Well, it's in the swaps section. I want it... Waaaa.

Edit: Sorted the first link: http://photobucket.com/albums/k495/mike5811/93dca0ba.jpg

Ok, so I have the M4 for the C8 build now.

Barrel extension ought to be here soon, next step will be to get the RIS/RAS.

Which would be most accurate to the real steel?

Got a picture of one? Google doesn't help much, shows Citreon C8s and if I search "c8 diemaco" it doesn't show ones with rails, just the standard M4 handguard.

The M4 I have has an outer barrel that's a half inch too long for it to be an accurate L119, so I'm thinking of getting this at some point. Probably not for a while though...

http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/gp-c...r-ras-front-set

Brings the barrel down to the 10 inches it needs to be and gives me the RAS at the same time.

Cost is mental though... Anyone know if it can be got anywhere for cheaper?

I thought you were already getting the barrel done?

If so, may I suggest ARES 7" RIS Kit for M4. I have the M16 length one and it's really good quality.

I'm getting the extension sent my way, and I could get the current one cut down for a mere £10, but it's a lot of faff and a massive wait 'cos it's all done by a Spanish guy who only comes to the UK periodically for a month at a time and it all has to be done through a middle man on another forum.

It probably is my best bet, but that still leaves me with the RIS/RAS issue.

Got a link for the Ares kit?

How is that easy?

Cutting metal that thick is hard enough as it is, let alone doing it perfectly adjacent to the barrel. Rethreading isn't exactly easy either.

Unfortunately I lack a metal work shop in my garage, I imagine you and everyone you know must have one if you think it's that easy. =/

14mm x 1 tap and die kit, thread the barrel further until it's the length you want. Then cut off any extra thread, the cutting doesn't have to be neat as it'll be hidden by the flash hider. To turn the barrel when threading, put something through the opposite end of it where it fits into the receiver.

The kits seem to cost more than it'd cost me to get sent off and done by the other guy, so I might as well do that if I can organise it. I'm not in a mental rush.

The RIS is the priority here, not the barrel length.

one thing to note is the barrel thread may noe be standard "m14" bolt thread, which might mean you will need to get an unstandardised die size to get a finer thread.
