Aside from using the Ant Susat adapter (Which has been out of stock for forever), is there any other means to attaching a SUSAT to a 20mm Picatinny rail or any brand of SUSAT that actually can fit 20mm picatinny?

Just looked. It's gone.
Sorry bud. I'll keep an eye out if I see another.

Basically I want to attach a SUSAT to my M249 but I don’t want to replace the picatinny rail on the M249.

Unfortunately I don't think such an arrangement existed. Every time I've seen a susat its had it's original mount and a rail's been slapped onto whatever it's going on. Even the ones made for spain had the original mount on the sight and a rail specific to it attached to the rifle.

Theoretically (VERY theoretically mind you!), you could remove the lower part of the mount, and have someone suitably minded whip up a picatinny compatible mount and reattach it, as it's only held onto the lower part of the mount (which actually attaches to the rail) with two screws. Bear in mind you'd have to come up with a way to facilitate zeroing as well, as the lower part of the mount also controls that.

If you need pics of my ramblings, we'll have to wait until the morning when I'm closer to my one XD

I remember those! Holy height over bore batman! :ROFLMAO:
I feared as much. Ant seemed to have made what I needed here https://www.ant-supplies.uk/rails-and-adapters/susat-scope-rail-adapter.html but yeah I was hoping maybe a company had made the Susat wrong and had 20mm instead of 19mm 😂
Not to give false hope, but I did find this:

Now they didn't specify what brand that susat is, but bearing in mind thats a G&G lr 300, and the op stated he knicked the susat off his L85, maybe the G&G susat has a wide enough mount to fit standard pic rails? Looking at the middle spring tab, looks like it's depressed and therefore not in a hole (oo-er) it's meant to sit in so I don't think the rails been modded on the gat. Last I saw a G&G susat was on asia airsoft, which is basically 6mm in a trenchcoat so take that into account.

Edit: Link to Asia Airsoft, allegedly in stock https://www.asiaairsoft.com/products/cn-made-reddot-4x-susat-scope-for-l85-sa80-series

Edit edit: Ok hear me out,

What about getting a spare L85 rail (which I have), getting a cheapy ris mount, shave off the rail sections so you now have a flat bar which attaches to ris, screw/weld/glue the L85 rail onto the newly made blank ris mount. Cut down the excess l85 rail either side of the sight, boom! Pretty much what Ant was offering with maybe less HOB issues.

Though that might just be the near midnight evil sciencies getting to me :ROFLMAO:

Oh Im With you now....
Then no, I've never seen one. Most adapters are different types to picatinny, not other way around.

I didn't want to mention this at first just in case someone pulled out a good link, but I went down the same road recently and personally I don't know of a way to get there without getting heavy machines or a 3D printer involved. I was fortunate enough to know a guy who owns a mill but far as I know he's not taking on such jobs at the moment.

For mine, I happened to have an old, real cheap picatinny riser that had been sat in a cupboard for well over a decade, which was ripe to be sacrificed. Looked just like one of these:

Because pic rail is bigger than NATO dovetail, there's enough meat on the bone to cut it down and get the right profile for a SUSAT. The main job was to mill the upper surface downwards by a couple of mm, ended up with a mostly flat upper surface with a hole drilled for the central plunger and a small rear cut for the protrusion below the range adjustment drum. Because you're only removing material and this is bb wars, you could do it with hand tools.. technically. Airsoft metal is pathetic so with decent files it might not be too bad, better to find somewhere with machines of course. Or go the 180 degree option and ask someone with a printer if they'll take your money.

Further to my mad ramblings last night, I reckon its doable. I haven't got a riser/mount to check against, but using my fnc rail as a guide i reckon there'd be enough material to allow it.

Get the cheapy quick detach riser/mount, sand down the pegs, attach the l85 rail and boom!

That looks promising, thank you!
