Hi all, having some trouble with my M4 AEG. Usually, when I connect the battery, the Perun AB++ flashes green for a few seconds then beeps once loudly with a solid green light = good to go.

However, it now just shows a constant purple light and never does its usual handshake with the motor. I've checked the diagnostics codes in the manual but it doesn't mention a solid purple light. Can anyone help?

Thanks for trying to help, however the answer you found refers to the programming modes, not the error codes that I'm asking about.

The MOSFET is not starting up at all when the battery is connected, therefore, it has detected an unspecified error, indicated by a solid purple light.

Then my apologies

Thank you very much - somehow, I missed that part, my bad.

By "closed", does it mean the trigger is being permanently activated?

Yeah, it can be triggered by something as simple as holding the trigger down when you connected the battery or something like dirt/debris on the magnet. Best (And easiest) bet would be to open it up and check around the trigger area and see if anything has moved and recheck your positioning. You can also diagnose with the case open which will help too.

A while ago a friend had an issue with his Perun and he had a shorted wire which had damaged the unit and that was also throwing up the purple light iirc - But fingers crossed for you that isn't the case 😂

Ah, I think I've found the issue ... the black wire from the Perun to the battery was slightly damaged so i bodged some electrical tape around it. I've just checked it and it's hanging by a thread 😕

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but can you suggest the best way to repair this?

Jesus 😳 You'll need to replace that piece for sure.

You should be able to cut damaged part out and then resolder the connector back onto the good wire. It'll obviously be a bit shorter though so make sure you will have enough wire in place before the snip, if not then you'd need to strip the wiring and rewire an extension in and then protect it with shrink wrap. If you do the latter then make sure the wire is the same as the perun such as gauge otherwise you may run into issues (I'm not 100% on that as I've never done that but best to keep everything the same as it was!)

If you're not sure on the process, it should be a simple and (hopefully) cheap fix for a tech

OK, thanks very much for all your help – greatly appreciated. Guess I'd better get on YouTube and learn how to solder wires together 🤭

As you say, failing that I'll try to find a tech to sort it.
