Alright everyone?

I've always had TMs and ICSs over the last ~15 years but have seen a couple of P&Js around and thought I'd give the M16A4 a try. Not for skirmishing as it'll be 420fps.

From what I understand they're upgraded A&Ks or CYMAs?

Anyone had one before and used it much? How does it perform? Not expecting greatness just not to go bang in the first 10mins

Thanks!

They will be OK - not awesome but OK

I kind of like the look of the CM.091 but doubt if I would buy one

Once you start getting near 200 Euros then I think I might look towards a Specna Arms & quick change spring

Then again as you keep going up in price to get a better base gun

you can reach a point where it has run away & you looking at Krytac

The P&J stuff now seems to be mainly rebranded Cyma stuff now

Yes it is better but very very very likely to be the same gearbox used in cheapo CM.515

OK gearbox, kinda qwirky v3 spring guide, 8mm cross bushings, qwirky "Lonex" type tappet plate etc...

Alright, if looking to tune up they are OK but need a bit of minor modding

(other gearboxes are a bit more simpler to tune)

Probably - well yeah I'd say better than a D-Boys, but no fancy mosfet or stuff

But then no iffy G&G ETU to go wrong either

Likely to have a few slightly slightly better bits perhaps bearing spring guide maybe a slightly better motor

BUT I wouldn't really call it much of an upgraded gun tbh, slightly improved perhaps

But would refrain from using the upgraded label if I am honest.

Yes metal receiver with some nice features/touches - could be a little cheaper to tempt me perhaps

But nothing really awesome - though little is under £200 I guess

Should stand up OK, but despite all the above rubbish I haven't owned one myself

My opinion comes from what is inside - OK but nothing awesome but pretty sturdy mind

Hope some of this helps, but if you are not going to skirmish it @ 420fps then downgrade it free at TWG ?

Cheers for the info Sitting Duck.

From what little information I could find/translate from Polish it seems like they have half decent externals for the price but like you say, not great internals.

OLD cyma boxes used to be 7mm bearings/bushings & hollow inside

https://hiveminer.com/Tags/cyma,gearbox/Interesting

which makes easy fitment/upgrades to high speed gears

(yes I know it is a MP5 gearbox but there are different cyma v2's but think they are using the new box)

NEW cyma boxes are now 8mm (good) but re-enforced (not so good) meaning a bit of modding to fit faster gears

So you have to grind out the ARC a little coz the faster gears 13:1 catch

The tappet plate has some cutouts at front like a Lonex

2jb8ex1.jpg

It uses a V3 spring guide in the Cyma V2 gearbox

It uses a trigger switch with prongs at rear than the copper selector plate needs to make contact with

The safety lever has a tiny screw on it which has to be removed before opening the gearbox

but still OK gearbox - nothing brilliant, nothing terrible just average China gun stuff I guess

Other guns/gearboxes don't need much/any modding to tune up the gearboxes

G&P or G&G v2 gearboxes you can fit 12:1 gears no modding required as they are more hollow at the back

If you look around on youtube many cyma v2's are now the re-enforced 8mm bushing gearboxes

(might be black or left unpainted), but very likely re-enforced & qwirky tappet plate

The gears are OK & quite strong, just saying if you decide to tune/upgrade the gearbox it is a little more work

nothing difficult, just a little mod here & there getting new faster stuff to work inside the slightly qwirky box

End of the day it is modestly price gun, quite decent for the price

Gearbox is sound as modest China guns go - could be a little more friendly to upgrade but OK as it is

I'm just finding faults with all stuff, and I have paid a lot more for stuff that was far worse

Isn't p&j just taiwanguns "rebrand" off a&k guns?

Duck, you're like Wikipedia for Airsoft.

What'd we do without you?

Only for the cheapo crap stuff - I know FA about higher end stuff & GBB pistols etc....

Find somebody else who hasn't got a life but spends way too much time looking at toy gun crap ??

Isn't p&j just taiwanguns "rebrand" off a&k guns?

Yeah sort of - they used to use more A&K stuff for P&J but seem to now shift to Cyma

But tbh it is probably all the same meat different gravy like most China stuff

(plus Cyma stuff gets rebranded quite a bit)

SHS made std gears with A&K stamped on them ???

Oddly enough the SHS website/home page don't work www.topaeg.com no more ???

So does the rebrand or oem SHS Rocket Airsoft have a homepage now ???

Cyma's are pretty damn good on AK's, their M4's are very reasonable - just the v2 box is a bit qwirky

But, enough about me, I hope this hasn't been boring for you.
Its just that whenever I talk about Elaine Airsoft,
I get so carried away, I loose all track of time...
