Ollie Talks Airsoft

I'm new to the forum as I've only recently signed up to buy stuff from the classifieds (at Ollie's recommendation). I know how much of an impact Ollie had on the community so thought you all deserve an update, but I'm afraid that I've only got crap news. Ollie went into hospital at the end of last week for a procedure. Myself and few other friends from our school days went to visit from Norfolk anyway. Ollie's blood pressure was very low Saturday  and he had very limited bursts of consciousness. They managed to stabilise him and they were hoping to get him back home for Sunday. Unfortunately he continued to decline and when we rocked up at 11:40ish we where invited into his room by his family. Over the next hour or so we swapped stories about our shenanigans with Ollie over the years, and  at some point Ollie seamlessly transitioned from this plane of existence with a smile on his face surrounded by people that loved him. Ollie was very brave at the end.

I am so sorry for the loss of someone who was obviously loved by you all.  The way that Ollie dealt with his illness was inspirational.

Awful news. His love of the MWS helped push me into taking the plunge myself and I have never looked back. May he rest in peace.

Huge loss to the community.

Thank you for sharing with us.

Thinking of all his friends and family at this time.

Cancer fucking sucks! Sorry to hear that dude! Ollie was a massive influence on myself and i can imagine thousands of other gbbr lovers out there! Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends! ❤️ R.I.P Ollie

I understand too why Mike is unable to announce the very sad news right now and Dan has relieved my caution.

Damn, Ollie was open about the grim diagnosis and didn't expectations but it doesn't make hearing this easier. Having a decent chin wag with him at the Midlands Airsoft Fair and discovering we have somewhat similar professional backgrounds while nerding out about barrel and bucking combinations formed a bond quite quickly.

I can only imagine how devastating this is for his closest friends and family. Ollie's not only raised awareness of bowel cancer but done the most extraordinary job helping unite airsoft communities and create new airsoft fans. Fighting it as bravely as he did is something I hope I can do if I had to battle a terminal illness.

Rest easy, Ollie.

He is gone guys...???

What a guy! May he be remembered forever ?? RIP x

rip ollie

your videos were an inspiration and ill never forget you.

Thoughts go out to those who knew Ollie personally at this heart wrenching time. His videos will remain as a long lasting reminder of someone who had a passion for life and all things airsoft. ??

im not sure if this has been posted elsewhere on the forum,  but i thought i would add it here.

i was at RIFT airsofts "shift your rifts" event yesterday (not playing, but visiting the car boot and trade stands).  while i was there i met and got talking to Mike from pewhubTV.  during the course of our conversation he revealed that there are a couple of games being organised in ollies memory, with all profits from the days being donated to charity. i mentioned to him about this thread, and the love the community has for ollie.

as mike mentioned that he isnt on this forum, i said that i would share the game dates and locations (with his blessing) to help spread the word.

the first game is on Saturday 7th June at Spartan airsoft in Bristol,  the second will be at C3 tactical in Monmouth on 13th July. both can be booked via the respective booking sites.

mike also informed me that if you contact him through pewhub or the "airsoft says fk cancer" FB page and ask for it, he will provide a link so people can also book on for saturday 12th July to arrive at C3 and camp overnight for a pre-game social.

mike has said the social is open to everyone, and if anyone books on, the link is free to be posted for all to see.

i have not yet messaged to ask for the link, as i need to get holiday approval from my boss to have the time off for the event at C3, but i fully intend on going, and i hope to meet several of you there
