Odd markings?

Thoughts of the collective airsoft brain please.

While sorting out the M4 bits to list in the classsifieds I happened to notice markings on what I thought was just a thin aluminium sheet inside one of the handguards - see pic. below. Now I can't imagine how a real steel part like this would end up in a pile of airsoft parts, but I also can't imagine and airsoft manufacturer going to the time, effort and presumably licence requirements to engrave this on an item that will basically never be seen!

In the words of the immortal Manuel, 'Que?'

Slightly too long for the handguard it was sat in😁I'll try to remember to measure it tomorrow. But why bother to laser engrave a part that will never be seen? Slightly bigger pic. below.

Forgot to mention it wasn't screwed down to anything, just lying loose.

Looks like it's been screwed/riveted in at some point, looks like an M4 size.

My guess would be VFC still tbh, despite the typo they are the only company I can think of that would go to lengths to engrave a heatshield 😂

Your boxes seem to be selling well.
Um -ish. I removed one advert after a user with a good feedback rating, told me he has a UKARA number, then blanked me when I asked for it. Might be ill or have a familly emergency of course, but after 4 days my paranoia stepped in 😑.  Another was from what I very strongly suspect was a child, via email rather than through the Forum, so I pulled that ad. too. But yeah I can nearly get to the door again now😄

I don't sell many rifs as I like to keep my toys but it's certainly been recommended in these forums that sellers simply check the buyers site history (comments, pics posted, feedback) for peace of mind.

You shouldn't be getting emails directly from members, unless you'd inadvertently put your email address in an ad, or in your profile somewhere ?

Ticked the box on the first few I listed. Have stopped doing so now.
