My Loadout

Hi All,

Posted my weapon loadout yesterday showing what I had acquired since March 2012, so thought I should follow up with the 'kit' I wear for airsoft.

Nothing much really, quite a basic loadout but suits me quite well I have found.

Thanks to the girlfriend for taking them!

Also - I need a drop leg holster for my Glock, would black look out of place or should I go for a Coyote Brown to match my vest?

looks good man nice and simple set up only bit i don't like is the mesh mask but that's cuz i personally hate them and think a one hole balaclava looks so much cleaner but each to there own

Purpose over everything mate, I had balaclava and wear a mesh mask after taking a shot to the lip that stung

why do people insist on black hats haha, they stand out rather badly after you've spent all the money on gucci cammo gear. or is that just me being picky?

It does look rather cool. I do like the multicam, but I refuse to buy it:

A ) Because I collected all the DDPM just as the British Army (and many others) switched to multicam

B ) It doesn't work terrifically well in my woodlands

C ) I prefer to dress up as a wookie-sniper.

haha - no I do think the same, I already had the black hat so currently using it, I want to get either a olive beenie or a helmet - cannot decide which so sticking with the black hat for now!

haha yes she does! although I think my 'cool' points went down a few notches after the shoot

Looks good, pretty sensible choices for starting off. My suggestions, just things that spring to mind you may want to consider:

-Adjustment straps either side of the back panel base would probably be better tucked away somewhere or just rolled up and taped.

-Do you skirmish with your mags that way up? Conventional doctrine is to put them in upside-down, makes reloads much quicker and easier (I've done a fairly long video on the subject on my channel if you're interested at all).

-If you're not crawling around on the floor much try tucking the lids of those pouches in, they should still hold the mag perfectly securely but you'll be able to reload far quicker.

-When selecting a holster option, please make sure to look around and consider it carefully. I've said this in many a thread to guys posting their first loadouts, and it's the biggest gear mistake I see every skirmish day. Guys hanging heavy GBB pistols in cheap drop-legs, off of thin & unsuitable trouser belts with the body of the holster sitting so low down it's almost on their knee. I generally prefer a hip mount myself these days, but if you do go for the leg option then make certain to pick up a really sturdy belt, get the strap around your leg tight, then tighten it more (because it will shift in game); and finally, do make certain it's high enough so when you're standing up straight you can pass your fingers under the muzzle of your pistol without leaning down at all. That's the primary tip I've been told time and again by a lot of guys who seriously know their stuff. Don't castrate yourself obviously, but make sure it's as high as you can practicably get it.

If you're still looking for multicam headgear, look on Flecktarn. They've got a Helikon Camogrom Baseball Cap for £8.50 and they also have the boonie hats too but I can't remember the price.

Well that's a hydro carrier, so it is doing something already. Just happens to have PALS on the exterior of the pouch.

Yeah its a hydro pouch so technically doing something as CKinnerley says.

I am going to put a radio pouch on my back (i think its the best place) might change my mind in practice tho!

yeah i had my radio pouch on my back for a skirmish or two then I changed it to the side because I had to keep asking team mates to operate it and adjust it and stuff, it was very annoying haha. but if you have a radio that doesn't keep unplugging, turning off, changing channels or the like, and you have a good PTT then it shouldn't be a problem
