MTW Unleashed has low velocity on first shots

TECH QUESTION


There's an issue with my brother's relatively-new Wolverine MTW Unleashed that we're strugging to pin down.

The first shot after any pause in shooting has a considerably lower velocity (with 0.32s earlier, we were seeing ~240-245fps on the first shot in a string compared to ~265fps on subsequent shots).

Occasionally we tinker with it and the problem goes away for some time, but we never understand what it was we did to fix it and eventually the issue keeps coming back.

At this point we've tried multiple different air tanks (including the large tanks we usually use in backpacks), a wide range of dwell settings, servicing the engine and regulator, and even shipped the thing back to the supplier to have them check it out, to which they said it was working as expected.

So at this point we're wondering if anyone else with an MTW Unleashed can confirm whether this is "just normal" (although that's seriously disappointing if true), if it's a problem with a known fix, or if we're up the creek without a paddle.

We're kind of at the point of wondering if the thing's internal regulator is just shagged and needs a complete replacement, but that's a lot of money to spend without being reasonably confident that this is the problem.

Hi,

I have both unleashes that are out 10" billet and 308 and don't have this problem at all but I do tend to fire a fews shot before I do any testing and setting for the site am on, I would first give the Storm reg and complete rebuild and servicing, there is a you tube clip on how to do it doesn't take long but.

I get this with mine. Wolverine suggested installing new battery. Haven’t tried it yet. They also said the first shot (after a long pause in use) is meant to fire harder to avoid sticky nozzle or words to that affect.
