Modification to WE outer barrel

The barrels on WE Glocks are known to eventually snap and need replacing.

I came across a modification that helps prevent this on an American forum. It requires the use of a needle file or dremel if you've got one.

Anybody familiar with this? Is it worth the effort? Does it work?

Never tried it for this reason, but I did modify a Guarder barrel to fit a Umarex/VFC in the same manner. Easy enough to do.

How is it supposed to help with the WE barrel ?

We have 3 We Glocks, they get used and abused, and I have never heard of the barrels snapping?

Is this another God-Damn-Yank thing? Have they been trying to get 450fps out of a damn pistol again?
