Mine and boys first Aegs turned up (warning for disgusting two tone).

Returing player after 20+ years away, recently my 12 year old dragged me back in.

Anyway I currently have to suffer the curse that is two tone but my defence will be sorted shortly, so these will be stripped and sprayed (have a camo scheme sorted, not my first rodeo).

For a beginner gun, these Arcturus are rather nice! My last AR type Aeg was a creaky TM SR-15 that was nowhere near as well built as this.

Parts: Arcturus LWT Mk1(SE so programmable), EMG KAC QDC with Flare mono inside, Vector optics Maverick red dot, Tango Down type stubby, Wasdn V300 light (need to change the switches, not happy with these velcro ones), Nuprol mid caps. 67129.webp

Don't think they actually look too bad in 2 tone..... I'd spray the green bits a darker olive/ranger green and be happy with that. Love the fat cans on them 👍

I would suggest replacing the butt & handguard (depending on price), that way they'll cease to be two tones that have been rattled and become actual rif's.

Welcome back to the sport by the way! i played 2004-2012, stopped and started playing again last year (2025) and ALOT has changed, not counting all the rubber/plasting in my old guns that failed to be anymore.
  • Pretty much everyone has a shop or site these days
  • airsoft tax is everywhere
  • Lipo fires appear to be every weekend (vs not when i played)
  • people actually use cleaning rods rather than whipping each other in the safe zone.
  • HPA is everywhere and binary/trigger spam is the worse thing in the sport

while unlikely, without any kind of defense. I would not. when you get your UKARA then id do it.
yes chances are low
yes a copper needs to know what they are talking about
but thats the way its written. (not here to debate it) but better safe than sorry.

while im a GBBR user there was a chap opposite me in the safe zone yesterday, him and his 2 boys had Arcturus and they seemed very good and happy with them, hopefully goes well for you too!

All noted ref the UKARA and the law regarding rifs, fully aware and is all in hand 👍

Can't get over how solid these things are, not a creak or flex to be found.

Paint stripper is pretty cheap but I've found it can be hard to get all the paint out of some of the little nooks and crannies. It would also depend on the paint used

I'm thinking along the lines of Graffiti go or similar as it doesn't attack plastic. Ive got synstrip aircraft paint remover in the garage but if I use that I will be left with a pile of melted goo 😂

It looks like they applied a single thick coat with no primer judging by the run marks and overspray (butt and handguard were removed though, so the main body etc is free of two tone).
