We live in a world where people sell (and buy) "BOX ONLY" listings on eBay.

Granted, that's mostly likely them looking to flip salvage as "BNIB".  In the hello airsoft world, I suspect that sellers are more keen to believe and assert that this adds value than buyers.

I will admit near all my guns are still in their original boxes , but that’s purely for storage and postage reasons no way do I think it adds to the value , BUT I am ever so slightly inclined to think if someone puts a gun up for sale and it’s still got the original box and the box looks like it’s in good condition that would lead me to ‘hope’ they’ve looked after it a bit better than your average nobber who’s just chucked it under their bed/in the wardrobe/corner of their room until the next game ?
One can hope ? ?

Looks like another case of someone adding up everything they've spent, and thinking that's what it's worth.

With stock levels being what they are, it's remotely possible that they might find a buyer who agrees, mind.

If there isn't, there should be. Or at least a minimum membership time.

I've just joined a few shooting forums and they have a month minimum before you can post in the classifieds. 
Which on the one hand was annoying, cos I'd joined to flog stuff (hypocrite, I know!), but on the other hand, I can totally see the value of that as it's got me involved in the community.
People who only join to flog stuff serve no purpose to AFUK as a community.
They also present a greater risk, as they can create a @fuckwit1992 username, flog their tat and fuck off into the distance before anyone's the wiser...

I was quite surprised at having access to the sales section straight away tbh.

The Airgun BBS has a 5 post minimum before access is granted manually and even this low bar gets rid of the vast majority of chancers.
