Hi guys just got my first M4 can anyone give me advice on a deans crane stock battery to go for? Attached the stock for reference

Cheers its objectively a daft question with an obvious answer but it's my first M4 platform and I wanna double check. Everything else I have is the wrong bloody shape

Ive asked millions of silly questions...
Lipo bag it's called...

Aye got one from bz tactical I know I overpaid for their rebel branded one but I was already on the premises and trapped haha

Mine came free in a bundle. But they essential I think. Id hate to burn the house down. 😆

Has anyone on here actually had a battery catch fire? Wondered if it was just hype. Not taking the risk tho

It's not hype. When Lipos go, they go properly. Thermal runaway I think the term is. When they die you have to alt bath them for about 2 weeks before even thinking of binning them. Nasty things, the airsoft world needs to evolve onto li-ion fully for a less risky energy storage.

Yes I have. But it was a NiMh not a LiPo that dead shorted inside a Sten stock tube. Not a lot of flame but made me jump a bit! When I got the stock detatched I poured the melted remains out of it onto some gravel. I've seen one LiPo burning but not mine so unsure of the cause. Perhaps obvious but don't ever put any Lithium battery in water to try to put it out - it will make the heat/fire/reaction stronger and faster. use Dry Sand or similar. I've had a few Lipo's swell up on me which is a very strong warning its damaged internally and is evolving Hydrogen gas. Don't use it and as mentioned above put it somewhere dry and non-flammable like on a slab or bed of dry gravel and leave it alone for a while. (by swell up I mean like a balloon, not just a bit of air trapped inside the outer wrap)

A bloke had a cheap knock off e cig in his pocket at my shop. He put some change in his pocket and suddenly this battery burst. It burnt its way out of his pocket fused some change to his leg and melted our floor. I don't fuck with batteries

Great advice, hope I never need it. Thanks.

I had always thought this but it's not true. Yes metal lithium reacts quite spectacularly in water, but lipo and li-ion batteries contain lithium salt electrolytes which are water safe. This is why firefighters preferred way of dealing with EV fires is to submerge the car in water
