Fair enough but my point that lithium batteries can be soaked in water still stands though

Absolutely. If it catches fire, it probably SHOULD be put into water for a while to cool it off after it's been put out.

At least you didn't have to pry a 50p out your thigh afterMy kids bought me the "kombat tactical" wallet for my birthday a few years ago, you know, got the chain and the carabina on it?
Only i put my vape batteries in the same pocket one day, (3.7v 20A 18650x2!!!) and managed to get a connection across one of them. Which turned the chain into a toaster heater....burned straight through my jeans and into my leg. That sucked a bit. (since then they've been in the little plastic tubes!!)

Also as important is disposing of old batteries. Yes it's easier to just chuck them in the bin but do you want to be responsible for something like this?

Since I've worked in the charity sector electronics disposal and general fire safety standards have been the biggest change to how we operate. You still get people fuming we can't take white goods that are obvious death traps and firebombsAlso as important is disposing of old batteries. Yes it's easier to just chuck them in the bin but do you want to be responsible for something like this?
