Right, after firing a few rounds from my JG/Golden Eagle M4, I've noticed how loud the motor is.

(Gearbox is perfectly shimmed, so that's out of the question.)

Can anyone recommend some good/decent high torque motors for around £30 - £40?

Cheers,

Usually it's not the motor that's loud but the pinion gear.

The pinion gear don't make noise on it's own :-) It's the interactions between the pinion and the bewel gear that makes "pinion gear noise"...

So matching the pinion to the bewel will lower noise.... 2 out of 3 times this can be done by shimming the gears (bevel to pinion) and ajusting motor height accordingly ....

This page eksplains the shimming process ...
