Kicking Mustang, SO Whats the Story?

Yes if sites had there media peeps (who if I'm honest don't ever seem to do a huge amount) video'd on foot and via drone you could get some great 3rd party coverage.

If in editing team members where highlighted with a colour code or something it'd be cool, I mean if everyone ran position locators imagine looking back at the game and seeing how close unaware players were to opposition etc!!

tbh i reckon it'd be kinda hard to get coherent/good looking gameplay even from the external perspective, dont reckon airsoft is much of a spectator sport.

not to mention players tend to get antsy at the idea of having a drone hovering overhead, or someone pointing a camera right at them when they're trying to be sneaky.

Oh yeh and there would be hours of loitering ?

Could out fit the drone with cheater sentry guns, a HPA mini gun would go nicely ?

[He's] making his vids to purposefully appeal to people who want to see people getting whacked in the face with no facepro, or people who want to see someone take a 40mike to the face. It's antithetical to what Airsoft should be IMO.

What's even worse is that his videos are popular enough that they appear in more mainstream media like Ladbible (note I said "mainstream", not "good"). That makes his stuff the public face of airsoft. The most recent one I spotted was him "punishing" people for not wearing full face protection by purposely hitting them in the face with his SRS. I reckon airsoft has enough of a stigma with the realistic guns and military gear without this guy making us look like thugs.

I began watching his stuff some months back whilst looking into airsoft as a potential hobby, I have to say it didn’t put me off at all or make me want to headshot anyone unnecessarily however I can easily see why it may compel others to think this way.

What was good (or so I thought) was his use of that cam suit, people seemed to miss him even being there and it surprised me as to how effective it seemed to be.

That is until I realised it was HIS product, the cynicism then kicked in and I now see it as all staged as a selling tool to make money.

Unusual, that! ?

As has been touched on here he is now seemingly fallen prey to the YouTube black hole that makes you all about getting more views and selling his suit, which people seem willing to just about sell their souls for not caring about the wider effect it has on the sport.

Oh for a channel that’s just honest and says it how it is eh?

I've noticed that in a lot of these airsoft sniper vids, the protagonist is setup and hiding nicely, several minutes before any of the opposing team even appear. I've not played on that many different sites but that seems unusual to me. Are they allowed to head out early or are they just super-quick runners?

The magic of editing.

Recent video from HRH the tactic is to go and spawn camp them which he does successfully.

Next weeks video will be shooting fish in a barrel.

The chap who caught one into the Netherregions reaction was both truthful and funny though.

@Dogsbody100 - That channel would be scoutthedoggie

On balance, I agree that he's a decent bloke who mostly shows woodland airsoft as it is - a bunch of sweaty blokes winding up hi-caps and randomly spaffing hundreds of BBs into trees and bushes while shouting "MOVE UP! MOVE UP!", then getting randomly spaffed themselves after they MOVE UP three steps too far through the mud. ;)

Isn't it the beauty of airsoft? Just having a blast slinging plastic pellets with your friends? :D

Scout is who got me interested in airsoft 11+ years ago. Kept watching his videos over and over again. I'd take one of his videos over the whole KM/Nov collection any day if my life.

Who the fuck is that?

I'm pretty sure Scout used editing as well. I could never be arsed to check - maybe I should do, considering I'm accusing him - but I swear I've heard very distinct "hit!" samples used over multiple videos, normally whenever he's following Daedalus or whoever the celeb of the week is.

That is true, he does add a "hit" voiceover sometimes, but that is the kind of editing that only adds immersion to the video, rather than a bunch of randomly placed hit markers as if it was CoD or BF. In some videos, for example, you can clearly see footage from 2 different games (or days) mixed together when he switches to the other team, for example team blue has an overcast background but team red has a clear, blue sky and the sun rays are clearly visible.. Doesn't bother as it's a nice effect that is still enjoyable to watch to me. Also when he wants to give information he just puts some text instead of going "my elite delta SAS berets sniper team is tasked with saving the world of pewsoft from the evil virtue signaling madman and restore the honour system by shooting people who are way within my MED"..

TL;DR yes he edits and adds effects, but he's good at it.

I do find it a bit of a dick-move (while we're talking about netherregions anyway) to laugh and not say anything,
least you could do is say sorry

Benefit of COVID is not having to see any of his cockwomble antics filling my YT feed.

Yes, some careful editing and some direction for dramatic effect.  I stress the "some", and re-iterate the "on balance" earlier.

That's good to get confirmation, and honestly a shame for me. I can appreciate using editing for good effect but at the same time the "magic" which partly drew me into airsoft in the first place (seeing those players get so many sick kills) is gone. I'd much prefer someone who uploads stuff that actually happened, but tbh - Scout's schtick has always been focused on following players, not the fight, so I suppose it would get a bit boring otherwise.
