How do you choose a loadout?

My loadout is a based on my budget.

went to my local surplus shop got MTP trousers & Ubacs for next to nowt. Boots the same, I wear Bijan knee pads in DPM (Because they are the only ones I found down slip down) DPM Boonie, OD green battle belt & Pouches (Because they were cheap)

it all works & I feel comfortable with it on.

Gone is the RICAS & MICH helmet modern soldier look as it was too heavy & cumbersome for me......I started over complicated & bought the stuff because I thought it looked cool......Now I dont hardly wear half of the stuff I origionally bought. I dont even bother with my pistol now, (it was never taken out of its holster during skirmishes anyway).

Now its trousers, ubacs, mags & primary. Nothing else worth carrying for me. Everyone is differant but I have found that faffy kits is just a waste of time & effort.

Try not to limit yourself to real life special forces or army uniforms. There are quite a few decent loadouts from action films/video games/comics etc. I wouldn't necessarily copy an entire loadout but nicking the odd idea here and there and combining it might make for something incredible and best of all unique

Do t be afraid to use your imagination rather than sticking to a strict set of rules or formal concept

I used to have a load out based on USMC FR from ArmA I I and it was really good.. but sold the RRV as I needed more African kit :)

Old dpm issue trousers

Older para smock

Old hi-tec boots

£30 molle vest

ammo pouch

drop pouch

pistol holster.

jack pyke bush hat with leaves

scrim net I wrap around my head

oh, knee pads, cause my knees are knackered.

plus goggles of course

no "look" unless cheap and comfy is one :)

I only really need two for the environments I play in,ie indoors cqb and woodland

As such I run a black police/SAS type set up for cqb and DPM for the woods......I know MTP is cooler but its nowhere near as useful as dfpm in the woods imo

Weapons wise,a ics SIG 551 Mrs lb AEG and a we scar gbb plus a trusty we SIG 226 in a serpa drop leg......seems to cover most bases

I second that motion. Video game inspired loadouts can look amazing, aswell as be practical.

I wish I had the height and build to pull off a loadout similar to that 50 Cent game... Dual Deagles, AK-12 (47/74 would look good too, for more of an OG look), bulletproof/stab vest with a bit of MOLLE, desert camo lower half (with tan boots, I guess), and top it off with a nice flat-cap. Maybe even the gold watch, if it's BB proof.

Thinking of a 'Mil-spec gangster' kind of loadout. I remember one of the NPC models from Saint's Row the Third looked bloody good. I'll have to go take a picture of it in-game since Google yields no results.

Edit: Here we go. Imagine this without the obnoxious amount of purple:

I've just now switched my loadout to basic as you can go.

DPM trousers

OD green top

Boots

Belt with 4 mags

sling

black mesh mask

Mesh glasses

DPM boonie hat

Oakley gloves.

May sell off all my MTP stuff as I have a feeling I wont need them in woodland anymore.

Did you say dual desert eagles???

Lol

Gotta say the biggest advantage of loadouts like these is that they are so damn cheap because you don't need to chase the latest expensive tacticool products! Last tshirt I bought was a CYBERDYNE logoed one giving the loadout a sort of terminator theme for just £8! Lot cheaper than a general tactical shirt lol

I also run a HYDRA tshirt (£6 eBay) which I thinks pretty cool also

Also with these sorts of loadouts, they don't need to actually make tactical sense lol. You can have real fun with ideas and not worry about sticking to conventional lines

Black Death's loadout looks ace.

I play woodland so I do camo (now DPM) but if I was playing CQB i'd follow his example & go for some mad combinations

My loadout is based of marines force recon, but is still a work in progress. For example I now have 5 guns and no mag pouches for them.

Also I say based of as the clothing/hear is going to be orientated around but not spot on and I know for certain my boots are wrong but hey who cares. Also only one of my rifs is the actual one that mfr use but it won't be when I get round to customising it.

So overall get a inspiration then change it to suit yourself

I wear what works for me. So my boots, combat trousers (MTP/DPM/OD), a multicam thigh holster and a tan magpul polo shirt. If its a bit colder I might throw a shirt or jacket on over the top. I've got a set of PLCE for milsim games and a lightweight chest rig for when I can be asked to carry all the magazines for my rifle.

Mine is based on my ability to blend into the background. I blend DPM, MTP, olives, tan and black. If you can see me, I've failed.

It's that simple.

I carry 2 m4s and an M9. Why? Because it's my style.

You start with cheap DPM and a cheap bog standard tactical vest etc. Then you decide there's a problem with it:

-I don't look cool/badass enough.

-I have money in my bank account, this can't be right, I must spend it.

-Land warrior airsoft had sten guns for £100 so I bought one and for some reason I cannot find molle Sten magazine pouches anywhere.

All of these are serious problems, which need to be addressed. There is however help at hand, all you need to do is build your 1st proper loadout.

If you don't look cool/badass enough, then you need to decide who does look cool/badass. It could be a military unit, a film or video game character etc.

If you accidentally bought a gun that doesn't match your loadout, then you need to work out who would have that gun. Then you need to spend ages on the internet. If your wife/girlfriend/mother etc. starts asking questions or looking at what you're doing be ready to cover everything by switching to a decent porn site, it's easier to explain and they won't moan about the money you are about to spend. Once you know what gear you will need, start buying it bit by bit but under no circumstance should you ever keep any sort of tally of how much you spend. It may take weeks, it may take months but gradually you will piece everything together. You will become close friends with the postman and various couriers into the process.

Eventually you will have your 1st loadout and you will wear it to a skirmish. Everyone will be amazed by how cool it looks and you will tell amusing anecdotes about what you had to go though to get some bits of it. Unfortunately, theres a problem...

After a few weeks, everyone you play regularly with has seen your loadout before, your bank account has started to recover, you miss your friends Jeff the postman and Steve the ParcelForce guy and to be honest, your starting to think that your Russian Spetnaz ballerina loadout doesn't quite look as badass as you thought it would so you start all over again.

Meh I much prefer the guy in chainmail behind you - don't see many airsoft loadouts based on the medieval age haha :D

I like wearing uncommon load-outs and camos those that you don't often see on a day out in among all the Multicams, DPM's and such .. Multiland, MarPat, UCP and Chinese PLA camo .. I like to be different and unique I guess .. Camo only works to a fashion in Airsoft ... Hell I even have Pink Camo BDU's from the USA for NAE this year ..

Not my pic, I googled bad airsoft loadouts for a suitable pic and among the first was Ian Gere's pic :D
