Hop rubber for around 400fps

Would this be a good hop rubber for a DMR running around 400fps?

If not does anyone have any recommendations that they have good experience with.

I usually use standard TM hop rubbers but that is for AEG's running less than 350fps.

This should be fine with an fps increase of only 50ish compared to standard AEGs. Just out of interest, what gun are you using it for?

i have just ordered me 2 PDI hop rubbers, they recon they are good to lift 0.4+g bb's at over 500FPS will let you know what these are like when get mine.

(note my sniper is shooting 450fps with 0.2's)

Thanks. I have just ordered an R hop kit to see if they are any good. But it will be interesting to see what results you get.

With an R-hop, you want a soft bucking for a better airseal, as it's not going to wear down at all and it isn't the bucking that needs to provide the lift.

And at 400 FPS, I'd still stick with a soft bucking, if you're not using auto. You won't be firing hundreds and hundreds of rounds down range, and 400 FPS isn't high enough to wear a soft rubber down super quickly. Soft rubbers provide a better airseal and are more consistent in the hop they apply.

I've always used soft (tried a hard once, didn't get on with it), even in 500 FPS sniper rifles.

This is going to be a DMR so no full auto.

The R hop claims to be good with 0.25+ BB's and I will be using 0.30 BB's.

It's worth a try for not much money. People rave about them.

I can go to 425fps so I will aim for the 400 mark and go from there.

But if you can recommend a hop rubber please do.

MadBull blue is what I used in my M16, and I've used both MadBull red and blue in my L96, and it's been pretty good. That was with a standard hop, the red in my L96 was especially consistent, I would put it back in but I've managed to lose it.

Currently have an R-Hop modified G&P rubber in my L96, but it's not shooting good, although nothing to do with the rubber itself.

It's not shooting well because the sanding on the R-Hop, the nub I have isn't too good, doesn't apply even pressure across the patch, and the hop arm probably needs shimming.

People seem to recommend FireFly buckings a lot for sniper rifles/DMRs, and I've seen the PDI W-Hold bucking mentioned a few times, but I think that's best with a PDI hop with the dual hop arms.

With the pdi hop you have to use AEG barrels and hop rubbers.

The pdi w hold hop rubber can be bought in vsr style (that what I have bought)

Yeah it is for an M16 or similar, but for a sniper, it's generally better to use a custom nub, something that's soft, the same length as the R-Hop patch and applies even pressure from the hop arm.

I used a cut from a wide rubber band with a small square of milk carton glued to the side that is against the hop arm. It worked okay for a while, but the band is old so the patch has lost softness and gone a bit brittle.

Apparently Nerf Dart foam is really good, but you have to turn your hop off after each skirmish day to prevent it permanently moulding into the shape of the hop arm. They also have to be replaced more often as they're really soft and prone to staying indented.

Once you've got it set up, let me know what parts you're using please. Never managed to get an R-Hop to be consistent in my M16. Want to have another go at it at some point.

Also considering an M14 DMR, although the one I want is still out of stock everywhere, so may get a VSR instead.

Yeah I know that sp00n, but the little nub inside them is split with a slight gap between, ideal for the dual hop arms, so not sure if that would work in a standard AEG hop.
