*HELP NEEDED* Noveske N4 Venting Gas on ALL Mags 😞

Hi all,

Looking for some help diagnosing an issue with my Double Eagle Noveske N4 (MWS-style GBBR), and also some advice on upgrades to prevent it happening again.

Was playing today and it was my first game and the rifle was working fine for about 2hrs, then suddenly after a mag change I pulled the trigger and all the gas dumped straight out of the magazine. Since then it’s doing the same thing consistently with both mags.

Symptoms:

• Insert mag → pull trigger → instant full gas vent
• No proper shot or cycling beforehand
• Happens with multiple mags (so unlikely to be a mag issue.

From what I can tell it seems like the valve is being held open somehow, possibly something in the trigger box (valve knocker sticking?), but I haven’t opened it up yet.

Has anyone had this happen on a Double Eagle N4 / MWS platform before? Any advice on what to check first or common failure points would be really appreciated.

Also, while I’m in there, are there any recommended upgrades (trigger box parts, springs, etc.) that improve reliability and help prevent this kind of failure in the future?

What gas are you using and what's the ambient temperature?

It actually can be the mags, even when it's more than one. Gas venting can occur when the mags cool down with repeated use in cool or cold temperatures. If you're using green gas or "summer" gas, you can get problems with cycling if it's a wee bit chilly to freezing cold as there isn't enough heat in the mags to let the liquid propane expand to gas.

If you let the mags warm up (to at least 20°C), can you let us know if the gun cycles without gas venting? If that's the case, you've almost certainly experienced gas cooldown, in which case you should consider red or black gas.

I'd suggest purging the mags as the example above sounds like weak gas pressure.
Hold the output valve open for a second or two as you start to fill.
Then let go of the output valve and continue to fill as normal.
This pushes out any pockets of air that may be trapped in the mag.

Just to check, You are filling the mags upside down right? (Gas bottle pointing vertically down into the mag)
