Hi, I have seen quite a few people in states use propane gas bottles with magpull adapter as more wallet friendly solution for their guns, also guns performs better in cold weather. Any of You using them in Uk too? Cant seem to find any cheap propane bottles to make it worth while, most of them

are

same cost as green gas bottles already. Cheers

I buy bulk MAPP propane from a certain DIY store, the main advantage is price but there's no difference with Green Gas in winter. The real difference lies with the hop-up. The lack of silicone oil in the propane gets your hop-up to have a better effect on the unlubricated BB.

And use maintenance gas in my mags after the game to keep the joints lubricated.

The challenge is finding a decent propane adapter.

you can buy MAPP and plumbers propane for £5 per 400g online.

The OG adapter was the airsoft innovations adapter. I really regret selling mine.

The Jaeger propane adapter is a pants product *unless* you only plan on using Coleman’s canisters.

Ive had mixed results with the madbull adapters.

I've got the best results with the Bavtac adapter.

To be fair, with adapters, i've always got on just fine with the Aliexpress ones. They tend to last about 3 yrs before the rubber gaskets go, but are super cheap....

So bloody annoyed, I've lost my Airsoft innovations adapter that has lasted me over 12 years. Now trying to source a replacement that is ideal is near on impossible.

Tried the jeager valve and it arrived today and as I've read up it's wank with rothernberger bottles and didn't work at all. (Might buy a Coleman bottle to try that)

Looked for the bavtec but they are out of stock and messaged to find out if they are coming back but no reply as of yet.

Amazon ones all have mixed to bad reviews and don't use Ali express so not trying one from those two places.

Why is it so hard to find a good adapter that works.

I use the big green coleman propane cans. As far as I know the gas isn't cut with anything else so just pure propane. Quite big and last for a good while before they run out. They generally go for £20 each.
I've had a Madbull adapter for years and never had any problems with it. The last 2 coleman cans I got however had naff threading so I had to run a tap over them so that I could actually use them!

I tried propane and went back to Airsoft gas, my reasons were;
It stinks.
The adaptor I had didn’t fill the ,gas very well.
Lack of oil in gas lead to my at the time TM G18C gumming up, mid game the slide wouldn’t return, was down to dry piston head.
Almost destroyed a PX4 out the box, ran half a mag through and the pistol jammed needing full strip, clean, lube.
Mk23 couldn’t get anywhere near normal FPS.

That’s my experience anyway and I’m personally fine with spending a bit more than I know I could possibly spend using propane if it means I’m not worrying about my 1 day a month I get out being ruined.

Ive been using propane in my gbbrs and pistols for a while but I specifically get the standard blowtorch gas not the map gas. I find with those cans the smell is minimal and you get about twice as much for the same money as you would with green gas in most cases if you buy a few at the same time. It took me a long while to get a decent adapter but I have a Jager precision one now and it works like a charm. For context though I only play in big open woodlands so the mild smell is even less of an issue. I also grease all the major moving parts of my guns regularly.

That sounds wank, nothing worse than a brand new gun getting damaged. Can't personally say I've ever experienced that issue with propane in both pistols and gbbr's. The age old thing of what works for one won't work for everyone.

My jeager adapter is crap in the blow torch bottles. Going to buy some colman camping bottles to try it as they apparently work better with it from what I've read online.
