I'll bite.

Assuming it's a site at which only consenting adults can forego full face, I would not factor that into whether I fire or not if all I can see is their head - providing they're aware of me.

I would however not attempt under any circumstances to shoot someone in the neck or ears deliberately. Nor would I shoot someone unaware in the head.

Had this the other day a sniper had full veiwof my top half still took the head shot

So after i got hit i went back to his position area and pin him down he left his head visible so i decide to take the shot

If others are willing to shoot then might as well do the same

Face protection is like seatbelts and eye pro like air bags. You still go out on the road even though you might be involved/cause an accident with another party not wearing a seatbelt.

If all I can see is a face they are getting shot in it. Wouldnt hesitate and if they are not wearing full face its not my fault they are stupid.

I shoot folk in the head and get shot in the head, not gonna not shoot someone just coz it stings/leaves airsoft herpes marks, I will never full auto someone in the face/head intentionally though even if it is the only part showing.

As a general rule I would not go for the deliberate head shot (face - eyes, ears, nose, mouth) because I would prefer not to be shot there myself and it is a sensitive place. However, I would aim for the helmet because it is protective and makes a loud sound when hit (or at least I hear shots to my helmet). One of the reasons that I wear a full face mask, Dye i4, is due to being shot in the face and I like the protection it offers when in CQB. Today I took a couple of painful hits to my forehead when not wearing my helmet in one game but that is the nature of playing CQB and being in dark/low light areas. I tend to kneel down so get shot in the head a lot as that is where people expect my body to be, or is the only bit of me visible as I lean out behind my rifle or pistol.

Sometimes it will be a snap shot, shooting by instinct as opposed to slower deliberation of where to aim. I will always try to aim for centre of mass, as more chance of hitting target, but you shoot what is visible to you. Yet again because I am low down kneeling or prone I aim for players legs because they know when they have been hit there as no plate carrier protection to absorb the impact. As an aside, using a TM Mk23 pistol which is fairly quiet I do see players get hit (they flinch) but look then around to see where it came from.

Distance is another thing, if close to someone then aim low to avoid the head. If further away the BB can change from flat trajectory and raise its flight towards the head, unintentional cause of hop set up, etc. And when they are behind a barricade then only the head pops up for a look, it is what you will aim towards. Anyway my two pence worth.

I shoot at the middle of what I can see, if someone's only sticking their head out then my point of aim is going to be their nose. Likewise if someone's moving quickly and I full auto at them to increase my chances of a hit and some of those shots hit them in the face/head, tough luck.

If you don't like getting shot in the face, wear a full face mask.

Only time I have ever complained about being shot in the face is when I got a row of 5 full auto shots across my face with my arms up and a red rag on my head from about 15' away while stood in the open. The guy claimed to not be able to tell I was dead... I had a bit of a flash at that.

I was that guy who did his seatbelt up and sat on it so it didn't beep. Until my wife and eye were on are way to our honeymoon wen a car in front of us lost control and flipped over the barrier. Ending up lay on the drivers door. We stopped partly because I have experience of these situations and because my wife is a nurological specialist sister.

When I got on top of the car I found that the dive wasn't moving and his wife was stood on him screaming. his wife wasn't wearing her seat belt and her window was open. The top half of her body had slid along the road as the car rolled becoming trapped under it. It won't go into detail but it wasn't a pretty sight. More people stopped, 2 of them wanted to help but couldnt look that the blood so they held the car steady whilst I pulled the casualty out. It was risky as we couldn't fully assess her but my wife said better to get her out ASAP so she could be treated rather than wait for fire crew to remove windscreen. An as the male wasn't moving we needed to get in to treat him.

Once out my wife (and by this point a passing gp) started to treat her using the combined first aid kits we had.

The male was fine. In a bit of shock but other than that ok. Why because he had his seatbelt on and could get it off coz his wife was stood on him. Wen the paramedics and police arrived we gave our details and left.

We were only 5 mins from the airport and wear so worried about missing our flight that we decided to change our bloody clothes in the airport toilet before the check in. Which went well.

Since that day I always wear my seatbelt. I plead for everyone else to do the same.

Side note. Whilst the female was being treated and I was pulled her husband out covered in her blood l, she asked my wife if we had any water. My wife got my bottle of water out of our car (as it was closest) to which the female asked if anyone had drank out of it. She was told yes and refused to drink in. I didn't find this out till I was on the plane.

They would do the same

Its their fault for not wearing full face they took that risk of losing a tooth etc

I would.

Dont aim for the head if the body is exposed - thou sometimes you miss or dont have enough time to aim. if only the head is exposed, then aim for the head. If you dont want painful faceshots - wear a damn mask!!

funny cas guy at our site had a rant about people shooting at the face today, saying he'd only taken faceshots the whole day.. when he calmed down a bit he admitted that he was actually just annoyed that he had gotten shot in the face, not that people do it (makes sense?)

I didnt on my first game. had his head exposed and in my aim for minutes before I was spotted and shot. Bad call.

If it's the only target of opportunity then I'll take the shot. To deliberately aim for the head is very much a dick move if there is any other part of the body available to shoot at.

If I can only see their head I go for it, although If they are not wearing a helmet I do feel guilty afterwards.

But if no other target is available thats all you can really go for

I will hold off for a second or two if they don't have a gun around the corner as well, it's typically younger players or the less experienced peeking corners without their weapon up. If we both have guns pointed at each other, it's fair game, and I'd expect to be treated the same way if I were pointing my gun at someone.

That said, the head is a lousy target to shoot at, if someone sees the BB they can dodge it, especially at longer ranges, aim for somewhere else and there's less chance they'll see it coming, and more chance they'll feel it if you hit the gentlemen's region...

If all you can see is their head, how can you differentiate between an enemy, your own team, a marshal or an innocent 3rd party who just happens to have wondered into the filed?

ffs, just shoot them..... if they are in camo or hiding behind a tree or holding a gun and facing you, you are either facing the wrong way or they are on the opposing team. I have shot marshalls by mistake previously, but they tend to wear full face protection so not really an issue, they also generally do not hide behind cover or shoot BBs at you!

Thats fine, if they are hiding behind a tree holding a gun and wearing camo then by all means shoot them in the face, but if all you can see is their head how do you know they are any of that?

I was playing a quite large open woodland skirmish site where a dog walker managed to get herself on the boarder of the "warzone", she panicked when 30 people are pointing guns at her; she froze, and was shot at, it was only when someone noticed her dog, that ceasefire was called and people stopped shooting her. She had no eye pro, no camo, no guns and wasnt hiding, yet people were so tunnel vision about "SHOOT ALL THE THINGZ!!1!" they never stopped to think whether they should be shooting at all.

She was quickly escorted off the field to the safe zone where everything was explained and fortunately she understood. But its not inconceivable that she could have just hidden and its not inconceivable that her or her dog could have been injured.

We all love the "realism". Dressing up, playing with RIFs, medic rules, gun hit rules, grenade rules, but when it comes ROE we chose to ignore them and just shoot sh*t. its a very paintball attitude.

Im not saying don't shoot anyone in the head, I'm saying think about who you are shooting at, If all you can see is a head you don't know who they are.

I've only ever aimed for the head once where I could've hit elsewhere. If I have a choice, arm or midchest. I play a lot of CQB, so I use full face - and I've needed it - my dye is all scratched from pellets I've taken.

Now, for that one time. I will say I am not really proud of it, but I would most likely do it again. It happened in May of last year. I was training for my shooting class in June in my back yard with my WE g17. As I was taking a break and resetting my targets, I heard a much louder shot followed by my dog (who is my baby) yelping. I quickly round the corner of my house to see a kid with a clear Airsoft gun aiming at my dog, who was cowering on my doorstep. The kid's two mates were also with him. Well, I know what has happened, and I am seconds away from going completely crazy at this point, and I'm too far away to stop them from taking another shot. So, I do what I can; raise my glock, and put two into the side of the kid's head. He yells, drops the gun, and runs off with his mates. Turns out he was using a Cybergun Jericho, which is CO2 and shoots about 400ish with .12g, which he was using... I ended up keeping that gun for awhile, and selling it to a friend to use.

Now, this kids mom then comes back about 1/2 hour later and stars going crazy at me. That is, until I tell her what happened, and show her where my dog is bleeding on her flank. Turns out she didn't even know her kid had an Airsoft gun. Needless to say, I think she took care of the issue - and she told me to keep the gun as well...
