Gun picture thread

I bought a Krytac Alpine Vector from a fellow in these forums about a month back. Since then I've taken the gun, gutted it out and upgraded almost everything internally myself. Now shoots like a total beast and sounds great too! It was the first time I teched a gun, can't wait to take it to a game next weekend.

I... hope this scope doesn't look too big?

After years of searching I somehow managed to stumble upon this wonderful TM Aug A1 with the steel HBAR kit with the correct bipod and flash hider. Not sure how rare these kits are but I’ve only come across a small hand-full of these.

They are rare. I've only ever seen one for sale; I bought it and had it modified to 14mm CCW to fit my GHK. Incidentally, I still have the original, unmodified 16mm CW barrel stub from mine - if you want that as a spare, or to put on another AUG or something, just drop me a PM.

It was done by cutting a Hephaestus steel outer barrel down - each bit is full steel, including the gas block.

S, M, XXL

Not sure why I insist on waiting until I'm selling something to take decent pictures of it, but all three bits (the pistol, the light, the holster) of this slice of 2000s Navy SEAL life are sadly for sale.

MWS mostly done. Will eventually replace the repro CTR stock with a real-steel Magpul one and will probably get a Visionking scope for it to replace the Strike Systems one on it at the moment. Might get a 45 degree mount for a red dot for close shooting, but we'll see.

Also, with the suppressor off and the stock all the way in, it fits in the smaller rifle pouch of my larger gun bag, so I can take both it and one of my (many) bolt actions in one bag now :D

Valken ASL are the standard rental at NTAC, my local outdoors site, and what played my first three games with to get my UKARA. They're half-decent and run well. They really need a bucking/nub upgrade to be competitive.

@MrTea funnily enough, being a rental gun is how i got mine! The site i play at use them and i was asking questions about it as it seemed like a good starter rif. Turns out one of the otheres there had bought s mew one but not used it a lot, so a deal was done. ?

I did strip it down a couple of nights ago and saw that there is only a flimsy ring between the barrel and hopper. Its been added to the top of my shopping list! Lol

Now with the RDS on the Elcan, and proper Grip Pod System grip.  C’est fin!
Question about your flash hider, I have one of those Airsoft Artisan ones and only just got around to putting it on the G&G L85... where the outer barrel isn't threaded. The standard flash hider just slides on and there's a pin that secures into a groove on the outer barrel.

Are G&G doing strange things with their L85A2 and do the ICS ones have a threaded barrel?

A couple of my MWS's, top is a colt 723 with a Nova receiver, VFC Ops Inc suppressor and a few other bits and pieces for a 90's delta build, and the second is an M16A4 as seen in its transitional era during the Iraq war

Open dust covers ?

Seriously though, love them. Especially the longboi! Not enough people run long MWS builds

Thanks! They used to be unicorns but there was actually a point a year or two ago that it was possible to build one, I'm very lucky to be benefitting from that :)

(Edit: unless you use angry gun, but everyone should know how that will go :P  )

I'm thinking of doing a C7 or MK12 Mod 0 build at some point in future but it'll be a while before parts availability and budget lines up

That M16 is a dream, I have to build one ? Do you happen to have a parts list floating about? Excellent job

I try to avoid Angry Gun parts like the plague as I have heard there are... issues :D . I did an m16a4 build with G&P AEG parts, but recently swapped out for MK12 Mod 1 parts (posted it a bit further up) and it has firmly cemented its spot as my go-to non-bolt action rifle. I absolutely love the aesthetic of it!

Thanks! The essentials for the M16 are:

G&P 20" steel WA system outer barrel, with unknown brand WA-MWS adapter

G&P front end furniture (M203 heatshield, M5 RAS, I have a standard A2 handguard too but not sure who that's from)

I believe this is a DNA barrel nut, it's definitely not the normal TM one. The person I bought the nut from among other things mentioned that the 203 won't work with the standard barrel nut, it seems like that screw gets in the way

MWC Stock kit. These are built to MWS spec and have large spacers inside, so you can use a carbine buffer inside rather than having to switch out to a rifle length buffer. No weight difference, just saves a bit of faff when finding parts

The 203 is believed to be a king arms, I have a G&P as well and consider the king arms superior because the tube rails have a detent at the end of travel so it holds open as long as you want it

The ACOG is holy warrior, I'm not sold on it currently compared to the G&P repro I used to have but I also don't have enough time with it to say for certain.

I don't believe the UID is correct for an A4 of this era, but this receiver gets passed around a lot of builds and it links to a google doc with info such as current chrono/npas setting, what the hop is set for, whether it's had any recent issues to keep an eye out for etc

I'm a fan of the MK12 but I have a VFC M110 for my quad rail DMR fix, I still want a mod 0 though at some point XD

Angry gun are not that bad but you really have to temper your expectations, if it's something with threads or any precise machining like a bolt then you have to understand they don't have a great sucess rate. Stick to simple things like buffers though and they're fine, and I've seen angry gun bolts that lasted almost a whole day before as well. It was broken by lunchtime but the fact it actually fit in the gun, didn't break itself apart when testing at home, got through chrono and then played a couple hours of games is quite impressive for angry gun.

Fwiw I've heard that their receiver/front end kits can be workable too if you're alright with a dremel, but I wouldn't personally chance it
