This arrived on Christmas Eve. And as a result, I just got the chance to build it last night:

Guarder have produced a G45 based on the Marui system.
It looks fantastic and I think this might overtake my current gen5 as my main pistol.

There’s only a few niggles I’ve found with the pistol. The first one came as a surprise, but the rest seem fairly standard for guarder:
- the extended barrel doesn’t take an extended inner barrel. If you fit a barrel longer than 87mm, it causes the barrel to rub on the slide and jam.
- the guarder steel acro plate is too thick, so it presses on the nozzle, preventing it from returning properly. - fix is to stand down the top of the nozzle or use a different optic plate.
- the slide rails are too thin, so you need to sand down the paint off the sides of the forward rail and the hammer chassis.

absolutely solid🔥such a good combo. Bet it looks mean in person.

Out of curiosity, with the Marui Gen5 system overall, have you come across any parts that really impressed you? Or anything that turned out to be a let-down?

Would be good to know what’s genuinely worth doing and what’s better left stock 👌

The only thing that really left me impressed was the guarder G34 kit.

The TTI hop unit is probably the best upgrade for the price.

I put CCT piston lids in all my gen5s. It might be placebo, but I feel it makes an improvement. It does require the 130% nozzle spring otherwise the nozzle gets hung up on the piston lid.

Otherwise, most of the stuff on the market is generally very good.

Avoid Gunday as a brand. None of it works.
Avoid 5KU unless you know what you’re doing. None of it works out of the box.

I’m looking into setting up a stippling business myself. But it’s time consuming and expensive to start up.

There's company's that do laser stippling but they all seem to be US based. Looks like I'll have to maybe buy an extra frame and give it a go myself

Yeah. There are companies that will do it here. But they charge a fortune.

I was planning on getting a laser engraver and offering it.

It would be expensive, but I’d get the framed cerakoted by Joe West and the I’d cerakote the stippling over the top.

West is going to look into do it when he gets a chance.

I’m tryna get my tti chamber to fit on my guarder glock 45 frame atm, looking like I need take some material off the steel rail mount

it’s probably cheaper and easier to modify the hop unit rather than the rail mount.

I’d try fitting the hop unit without the slide or outer barrel, tapping the inner barrel with a mallet to force the hop unit into place. Doing that a few times will remove enough material to allow it to fit without force.

I’ve built a dozen of these now and I haven’t need to modify the hop unit or the front rail.

Already tried all that it deffo doesn’t fit no matter the force. I spoke to someone and they filed down the hop a little and got it to work. Will try that

Can any admin or mod contact me please.

Been trying to get my posts approved all day and it won’t let me DM an admin or a moderator. No matter what I type it says it’s spam.

Fair enough. As I said, I’ve built dozens of these gen5s with TTI hop units and never needed to file the hop unit or rail. Might be a QC tolerance in the newest batch of guarder rails as they’re caste not CNC.
