"God damn it man! It's not a ****ING LUBRICANT!"

You wait Kieran.

One day I'll think of a way to inflict my rage upon you in an effective, semi only Glock manner.

Then one other day, I'll actually do it.

And you'll rue the day you started all this "My Glock has auto, your's doesn't hurhurhur" bullshit.

Mark my words.
I look forward to it, you'll get there one step at a time.. Whilst ill be hopping ahead 27 at a time ;)

I work for a company that cans wd40

I can tell you it it made up of one part oil, two parts white spirit

IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYTHING RUBBER!
Yep its true I work with Sp00n and the million or so cans that pass out the factory, we can agree it's not a lubricant, it never will be and it never has been !!!!

As a cyclist and former projectionist, the general rule of lubrication is: If you can keep it drenched in oil, use oil, if the oil will leak out use grease and if you forget to oil of grease something and it jams or is clogged with dirt, use WD40 to clean it or unjam it before applying new oil or grease.

WD40 is a lubricant but its watered down with solvents so will not stay on whatever you need to lubricate and the solvents will destroy plastics and rubber. So its a lubricant in terms of its properties, but not its useage.

I work in chemistry, we manufacture a similar product to WD40.

I'd never use it on plastic or soft rubbers "EVER".

Personally I just formulate my own lubes for whatever I need.....but I'm lucky because I have access to a chemicals lab :)

does anyone else keep reading this thread title in a Capt Kirk voice ?

Goddammit, Jim! I'm a doctor not a lubricant specialist!

Goddamnit Cap'n, I can lube her up as much as ye like, but I cannae make her go any faster!

Computer, load the forward WD40 banks and spray those Klingon rubber foreheads on my command!

Mr Sulu lock........WD40 sprayers on the....lead ship and....await my command.
