Glove issues

I found carpenters gloves are a good set of gloves used them for 3 games and give decent protection and they already have the fingertips removed on the thumb, trigger finger and middle finger so you dont lose the flexibility of using your fingers  and only cost about £10 from any diy store.

I've had many pairs of Mechanix come apart after almost no use myself, but then some people find they last ages.  I've personally found the fit to be pretty bad, especially on the fastfits and I know I had the sizing right, but finger length, palm size etc etc all varies massively person to person.

I get asked this a lot, probably more than anything else and I recommend the PIG FDT Deltas to folks these days after trying all the good and popular options over the years.  Most of my gloves are the Alphas and I use those most but that's because I bought them all years ago before the Deltas came around.  If you want thin construction and dexterity specifically over protection (which is my preference for sure) the PIG line are popular around the world for good reason.

I'm one of those people that they fit well. I have big palms and quite short fingers so maybe that's why. Most other gloves are far too long in the finger/thumb for me but I do agree that the fast fits don't seem to work quite as well.

Personally my Mechanix (Mpact and regular) fit very nicely. On the basis of this thread I bought two sets of the Exo Ironclad gloves and both fit well apart from being slightly too long in the fingers, but as @CKinnerley says that is down to individual variation. Personally I would recommend either brand based on my experiences so far.

On a side note Ive just realised I have about £150 worth of just fecking gloves!

I have Mechanix gloves, though they are probably knock offs and have no problem with thickness.

I get hand cramp when I do DIY with thick gloves, so I wear these:

, as they are much thinner than nomal builders gloves.  Back of the hand is blue, so not very tactical ?.

I echo the comment on sizing, I can wear a Medium in Mechanix, but normally wear Large for other gloves.

I much prefer freedom of movement as well and can't really fault the Mechanix. If you want an idea of dexterity provided I can use my phones touch screen as normal while wearing them. Outside padding is minimal so any hits will still sting a fair bit but it's still much better then having bare hands!

ive had loads of issues with gloves myself... I seem to have a weirdly large palm with shorter fingers...

I found Nomex flight gloves and the Mechanix fast fit gloves to be the best, I know its been said before but size is extremely important!
