Hi everyone I’m hoping someone can help! I want to fit a 12.5” Daniel Defense FSP style rail to my Tokyo marui m4 Sopmod NGRS. Has anyone done this before and if so what do I need to buy to do it? I’ve read a few different things online of varying parts required so want to get some clarity before I go ordering stuff!

Can't speak for that specific rail, but i've fitted various rails to NGRSs and usually it's pretty direct except needing a large "washer" to go inside the new barrel nut as NGRS barrels typically slip through AEG barrel nuts.

I made it. Shims sometimes work, depends on the barrel nut.
I had a feeling you would have made it, if you fancy making another one let me know as I’d buy one haha! I’ve read some people say about fitting a hard barrel base nut, sadly no one seems to have them in stock. Don’t suppose you can shed any light on that?

The only actual parts would be the handguard and the Laylax hard base/equivalent or an aftermarket outer barrel which negates the need for the base; since the rise of the MWS (and VFCs and other things) however those parts just haven't produced.
What you'll really need is quite a few tools (fair old list honestly), and if you've no idea right now of what tools you'd need for job then I'd probably be right in thinking you won't have them - not a dig in any way just being realistic. If you're actually a plumber or already build radio controlled planes or whatever then I'll get straight back in my box.
If you can get the gun and parts to north London I'd certainly volunteer to help you do get the install done for nothing.

Yeah I’m finding that issue as literally nowhere is stocking the hard barrel base! I’ve got a lot of tools my main concern is starting something I can’t get all the parts to do properly and then having one of my favourite guns in bits for months 😂
Thank you for your offer that’s very good of you!

I've made a few, they are each suited to the relevant barrel nut as not all barrel nuts sit in the right place for the handguard without some modification. Some have a flat washer made, some like the previous pic are sleeved, others require the nut to be machined too.

I would offer to help, but engineering is only a small side part of my main job, which is currently keeping me more busy than i'd like.
