Echo1 Spectre/GAT ---- Spectre m4?

Had my eye on this one for a very long time..

Anyone knows if there is any other brand than the AY? or if the AY can be made into something decent? or what gearbox/hop unit/etc it uses (I assume swapping the gearbox would be step one)? the foregrip looks big enough for a small lipo brick? will the externals fall apart just from looking at it?

Been used in a few SMGs unless I am much mistaken. Think surefire makes one for stang, doubt you'd be allowed on milsim arguing that thou (then again, what do I know about milsim)^^ thing is with obscure guns like this, they dont tend to have more than one version magazine in airsoft, this one is 50rd.

Agreed. Big question is really how much stress they can take and what sort of stress one actually would put on it while skirmishing

one or two people on Airsoft Mechanics have ripped it to bits to make a typical AM nutter rof build

is is a kinda bespoke or altered gearbox I think based on v3 but all/most bits are normal aeg stuff like regular v3's

well that was the GAT - dunno about spectre coz only just 5 mins ago found out they did that too

maybe Evike or Airsoft GI order time as they do ship to UK.

(custom's could be a 8itch but deffo different)

Really looking for a subcompact with a proper gearbox/internals that looks somewhat decent. I love my mp5k, but I just cant stand the look of it. I wonder how they perform out of the box...

+Seems a tad bit more solid

+Holes in heatshield could be used to attach home made optics mount?

M4:
+Remove the RIS and you could easily make and attach a home made optics mount

+Easier battery access

+Looks like attaching a homemade stock would be easy or possibly (if same design as AY)
+Looks amazing (minor point as they both look good enough)

If you want a smart little compact there is a pts fpg on here. Unfolding one of those is even more fun than shooting most guns.

The AY Spectre has been around a few months now, the FPS is quoted only around 260-280fps from the "AY V3 Custom gearbox". That and the fact it has no folding stock option puts me off at the moment,also the fire selector functions as the safety, with the de-cocking lever on the opposite side being the semi/full auto selector which may take some getting used too. Takes a 7.4v LiPo or 8.4v NiMh battery in the foregrip (mini Tamiya plug), and made of Polymer rather than ABS allegedly. Good link with more pics here:

Not too concerned about the the selectors/levers (unless it's in the way, so that a user that does not have tiny hands keep moving it involuntary), dont tend to fiddle around with them anyway^^

No but fairly recent, guessing about 3 or 4 issues back, they were supposedly doing a review and an article on upgrading it but I missed it. Might be worth checking the AI website or Facebook page
