Decent balaclava?

Hey guys, as I now have this sniper I've figured it may be easier to use glasses. I am currently using goggles, as they're thick, I won't be able to get close enough to the scope. Therefore, glasses is the way to go. But, being quite young, I'm not up for having some nice big cuts on my face. So I am planning on having a balaclava with like two holes for two eyes (presuming my glasses work, aha) then glasses over the top.

Balaclava and glasses. What ya think for sniper. And the mesh mouth guard thing.. I'm not up for using a helmet. I'm a minimalist. So anyone know a decent balaclava?

Thanks.

Maybe look for some sort of ghillie hood. They usually come with some sort of veil for your face and will give you some more than adequate concealment.

Failing that do what I did and make one yourself out of an camo jacket with a hood and cut to allow more airflow and then get some jute and tie it on securely

I'll have a look on mil1st. And that's good idea to make one out of a hood.. The reason I want a balaclava, is I'm not up for being hit on the bare head. I'd rather have a balaclava to soften the BB a little bit... Maybe there are some other options?

Thanks.

Actually, I quite like the idea of a hood. So did you cut a hood of your jacket? Really like the idea of a hood... Thanks

You could buy a cheap jungle hat or a beenie hat as your base

Yeah, I forgot to mention, a jungle hat is one of the things I was going to use. A jungle hat. Some glasses (not goggles), that metal mouth guard thing. But this means, the sites and back of my head is on view. Is there any way I can conceal this?

Here are the things I think would work:

A balaclava (not ideal, don't like the idea of this for sniping)

This thing http://www.amazon.co.uk/Armeeverkauf-Ghillie-Suit-Hat-desert/dp/B00MBKBI44/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1448871485&sr=8-2&keywords=Ghillie+hat (got a feeling this a net and not actually a hat/mask thing)

Maybe this (looks a bit cheap though) http://www.amazon.co.uk/KombatUK-Ghillie-Hat-Survival-Camouflage/dp/B00CZ7LUGY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448871485&sr=8-1&keywords=Ghillie+hat

I'd any one has some ideas for concealment of the whole head, that'd be much appreciated. Or if anyone knows a product. That'd be cool.

Get yourself a sniper veil. Very very versatile , can be draped over your bush hat to cover your head and shoulders.

Every site i've researched in the past said that under 18's are not [legally] responsible enough not to use full face (or full seal with half mask), have you checked your skirmish sites?

Yeah, I know the rules, kiddies like me have to have full face mask. I use goggles and lower face mesh, guess I'll have to stick with it

Type 95 sas smok with the wired hood.

The hoods have an inner draw string to get it to stay on your head, and the wire outer rim lets you shape it.

They zip right up to your mouth, and are wind and rainproof in all but heavy rain. They also keep you nice and dry when your on the deck prone.

The one thing you might not expect is how warm they are. Been windproof and fairly long you will heat up fast in cold weather. I wear mine all the time to work because it's the perfect UK jacket, warm enough on cold days, waterproof enough, and not thick enough to cook you if it warms up. The army got that smok very very right.

The other thing that might suit you is a motorcycle/motorsport balaclava intended for under helmet use. They tend to be thin soft and not very insulated because they have to be worn with a helmet. You'll struggle colour wise, as they tend to be black, white, red, or blue. A black cheap one might be worth a punt tho, and should give you about as much protection as a t-shirt. So enough to stop a cut but not a welt.
