Help it run in the cold. As long as you don't use higher pressure gas in warmer times it's only stressing it as much as it would on green in the warm.

you either bought Nuprol 2 which is green or Nuprol 3 which is red

Nuprol 3.0 is a green gas in a red can. It is a little higher pressure than Nuprol  2.0, and will be fine in a WE G17 in winter temperatures.
