Camo choice

Hi All,

Got my first game on Sunday and I'm thinking about my choice of camo, a bit late now! :mellow: I went a bit crazy with my credit card when I booked my first game and ended up with a full desert camo loadout because I liked the look, now I'm thinking I might look a bit odd turning up in desert camo gear to an urban site, or do the engagement ranges in airsoft mean that the camo is ineffective anyway?

Is it worth me investing in other gear or just see how it goes and put up with the funny looks? :lol:

desert camo isnt that bad if its an indoor site but in guessing that its not.

there are three main camo types you can use in all sites

DPM - good for light woodland area's wind bushes ect

Flecktarn - good for inside forests dark areas and for night areas

multicam - an ok but not a cheep camo great for night time and a mix of woodland forest areas but not worth a damn if your trying to hide

there are other choices and if it is a full urban site id give ACU or BDU urban a try

From what I've seen the site is a mix of both, but I think they are mainly indoors so I should be okay? I suppose I'll just have to move faster when playing outdoor games!

run very quickly always a good plan but if you plan to replace your kit sites like eBay, airsoft club, flecktarn.co.uk, cadet direct and dragon supplies do some good kit good luck lad

50% of an airsoft skirmish day is the shooting and running about, the other 50% is the fashion show. If you like the look of your kit then nothing else matters, if you end up standing out like a sore thumb at your site and that bothers you then feel to select from the dozens of camouflage patterns that are commonly available for purchase to suit your needs/wants.

Apart from that, people turn up at dark woodland games in bright desert camo all the time, it really doesn't matter. This is airsoft, you don't need to worry that getting seen will get you killed, and anyone who so much as sneers at you in an elitist fashion because your fatigues don't 'match' the playing field is an epic loser not worthy of the mud on your boots. You crack on.

In all seriousness though, I play at a FIBUA site where there's a mix of houses, woodland and alot of urban fighting.

The thing I spot first on the player is their arm band colour, I don't really look at the camo.

I do like the Viper shirts in DPM and you can pick up a pair of DPM trousers for fairly cheap. It's up to you, in my opinion it doesn't really matter..

if its your first game dont worry about it, most people turn up in jeans and an old hoodie or tracksuit bottoms, so your allready gunna look like a vet rocking the camo look

To be honest your camo has no affect on your game enjoyment so what does it matter.

There will be geardos that either have too much money or still live with mummy that will look down on you. Same with anything in life.

If your comfy in your kit and like it that's all that matters. My first game i went for DPM because i already had it all and a thrown together plate carrier.

My experience so far is 99.9% of players will be happy to give advice and show you kit etc.

Oh and i love DDPM and will be getting a full loadout sorted once funds allow.
