Genuine question...

I'm a collector more than a player & don't intend on selling any of my pews in the near or distant future (god help my kids), I still have the origonal boxes for most of my collection stacked up in my shed but I reckon I should bin them. What are the hives thoughts on keeping them or chucking them?

I keep all my boxes.  I think it’s better if you’re eventually going to sell them as it’s a good selling point and makes postage easier.  If you’re never going to sell them then you probably don’t need the boxes but it might make it easier for your kids if they eventually have to sell them.  I guess it depends if you need the space in the shed.

You could try offering them for sale.  Some people might want a box for an existing RIF if they don’t have one.

Yeah, boxes are a nice bonus for me

Three of my RIF’s I bought used , and I’d have liked them to make selling & shipping them easier

Thinking I should keep the original boxes but dump the rest.

Lol, I could have made a mint, to keep my rifs in boxes I'd need a second garage, so guns all go in bags & cases, boxes in the bonfire.

(Plus easier to hide all the new arrivals in bags, they all look alike?)

Keep the boxes if you can.

It can be a real pain finding a box for a RIF if you do need to send one by post.

Even if you don't intend to sell now you never know.  You might need to send one for repair.

Keep the boxes. Much better to have the original box to go with the gun.

I would keep them, a collector may want one,,

I once sold a empty Tamiya R/C car box for £20 on eBay to a collector

I keep the boxes but only to use for target practice, then when full of holes they go in the bin

Have you got the room to store them where they are dry and not going to get chewed? If so keep them.
